Being a small school has its strengths' such as better communication and smaller classes and weaknesses such as less class selections, but does a very good job of working with the students with a focus on their future. They have a very good career pathways program to give students a "sample" of potential jobs.

Mancos is a small rural community that has very good support for it's schools. The current curriculum at the High School has numerous pathways for a student to check out. Support from the teachers and staff is strong in all areas by being part of the extracurricular activities. Because it's a small school there is better contact with the students social/emotional needs also. Over 25% of the students come from outside of the school district,; evidence of a good school.

The school district focuses on the student and also offers great opportunities to take college courses in high school as well as work with the student and parent to identify and apply for appropriate colleges and grant/scholarship opportunities. I’m very pleased with my child’s success at Mancos.
