I have 2 gramdchildren at MVES. Both receive individual assistance and are happy and well taken care of daily. Most faculty members are friendly and look out for student well-being and safety. Communication with parents is excellent. I taught at an elementary school in another GA county for 28 years and can soeak highly of MVES after many years of personal experience involved in elementary education. Keep up the great work.

If you have a child who appears to struggle with coursework, don't enroll them in this school. There was an extremely slow process in getting children tested by the school psychologist. This professional's testing was needed to determine deficit areas and what areas a child required services in, and should be given, to accommodate their specific problems. It seemed to stay far too long on a classroom committee level. The reasons given were that strategies had to be practiced and shown not to work. Knowing what I knew about other people's children elsewhere, this timeframe went beyond a reasonable limit. Due to what you hear about school budget woes, I wondered if they were understaffed and needed more school psychologists. I especially wondered this because of the monstrous size of the school. In addition, overall staff seemed to constantly work beyond an eight hour work day. You often hear of teachers doing a few things on their own time, but this seemed to go beyond that. I felt bad for them. It looked to be expected. When your work day is over, it's time to go home. My advice is to choose a neighboring school system.

I thought it was awful. It's close knit and so many students receive undue mistreatment while a small selected few are treated as royalty. Low morale professionally.

The school is a JOKE! Very political and deceptive. No one know what they are doing and very poor judgement in my opinion. Please check the schools before you move to this county. Out of county children attending this school and they cant get a grip on it.
