Our family has had a wonderful experience at Shawe. The school offers an academically rigorous environment, plus a caring and competent faculty, administration and staff. Shawe provides sports and activities for all interests and abilities, and because the school is small, students benefit from one-on-one attention both in the classroom and during extracurriculars. Faith and character formation are also emphasized, with the goal of shaping young people into caring, respectful adults. Choosing private school is a big decision, and Shawe (and its sister elementary school, Pope John) make it easy. Highly recommend to families looking for an exceptional schooling experience for their children.

Shawe Memorial provides students with opportunities you cannot find anywhere else in Madison. Every Shawe graduate that I have met is driven, successful, responsible, and so very well mannered.

I went to Shawe Memorial when I was in high school and now I teach there. Shawe was very good to me as a student and I loved it. Teaching here has been wonderful as well. We have a fantastic faculty and our student body is full of wonderful, caring kids. Furthermore, all my children went to Shawe and have excelled during their college careers. They have been on the dean's list and my oldest graduated last year Summa Cum Laude. I attribute most of the college success to Shawe Memorial. It is our home away from home!

Shawe Memorial Junior Senior High School is an excellent school that is dedicated to spiritual enhancement, academic excellence, and community service. We involve our parents and the entire Madison community in a partnership that makes Shawe an excellent school for students to attend that will prepare them well for the future.

Shawe is wonderful school. All of my children attend the school. They do an excellent job not only teaching them academics but they also teach them to be responsible young adults. I would highly recommend Shawe High School to anyone one who is looking for a demanding but personal school.

All of my children have attended Shawe Memorial Jr /Sr High School, and it has been worth every penny. My oldest is a recent graduate, and not only did Shawe prepare her for college academically, but helped her develop confidence in herself and her beliefs. My family is truly blessed for having been a part of the Shawe community all these years.

This school is a dismal, dull place that I have dreaded to go to all of the years I have been forced to go to this school. It has unnecessary rules, rude and sometimes unqualified teachers, bad lunches, and is very restrictive of freedom. I've been cussed at and singled out by a teacher. I've been ridiculed for my agnostic beliefs, in spite of the fact that they "accept all faiths" as quoted on a sign on their campus. They do not let me take college classes, even though they praise college preparation. They do not let me take classes that they don't have that are available at the local public High School either . They praise the "real world" and "responsibility", even though teachers baby the students by pestering them to do and turn in work. Teachers are very strict about students even going to the bathroom. There are automatic suspensions for cell phones confiscated, detentions for untucked uniform shirts or different colored undershirts, you can be sent home for wearing pants or shorts they don't like. Unnecessary dress codes, supervising rules, restricted freedom, unnecessarily strict teachers, and much more is what you get when you pay thousands of dollars to go here. Dismal.

I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. When I was told that I would not be able to take college classes or classes that Shawe did not provide, I was infuriated. They told me that this was because "It provides an unfair advantage to students with the means to pay for college level classes, which are weighted." And you know what? Life isn't fair. I understand parents may not have the money to afford these classes, but if you're old enough to take them, then you're old enough to get a job and pay for them yourself. Plus there are just so many stupid rules, and teachers are either nice, or treat you like you're not worth anything. I am very unhappy with this school, and due to the years and amount of money they take from your family, more often than not your parents have invested so much money into your education that they won't let you transfer. Save your money.

Shawe Memorial may have, at one time or another, been a good school with highly rated academia and faculty, however this is no longer the case. Shawe Memorial has subjected me, as a student, to a myriad of unnecessarily strict rules that have been detrimental to my over-all high school education. I have been yelled and lectured for trivial things such as a shirt that was "slightly too grey" or "the wrong shade of yellow". I have witnessed highly unprofessional behavior from teachers towards students, and I have been forced to observe the Catholic religion, despite holding atheistic beliefs. The school also works on a premise that they are giving students the best possible preparation for a college career, while this may have been true in the past, it is also not true any longer. The administration only cares about getting kids into college, nothing else. They boast a 100% graduation rate when they pass students no matter what. They serve disgusting lunches and tell us to deal with it. Since the introduction of a new administrative head at the beginning of the 2012-2013 year, I have seen a VERY sharp decline in the quality of services that they are offering. Be wary of this school.

I am a senior at Shawe Memorial this year. I believe that this school has prepared me for the rigorous curriculum that college will present me. I have been involved with just about everything at Shawe and it has been the best five years of my life, soon to six years. The class sizes are small, the teachers are so much fun to learn from, the athletic program offers multiple choices for being such a small school, and the student body becomes a family. I can honestly say that I would not have been happier at any other school.
