Our son just graduated the 8th grade. It is hard to describe just how wonderful the Thaddeus Stevens School has been for him. The school helped mold him into a smart, confident child who is more than ready to tackle the challenges that high school will bring. There are many things that separate the Thaddeus Stevens School from other schools, but perhaps the biggest is the extent that the faculty cares about the students welfare and the social dynamics in the classroom. They work hard to make sure that every child is supported and that there is no bullying. Because of this, the students have lots of respect for each other and work as a team. Most importantly, the faculty do not wait for problems to happen. They are proactive and make sure that problems are not likely to arise. The education itself is top notch. So to summarize, the Thaddeus Stevens School gave our son a great education and great social development. It is hard to ask for anything more than that.We are so thankful to have the Thaddeus Stevens School as part of our community.

We transfered our children to Thaddeus Stevens for 3rd and 5th grade. What a difference it has made! We love how the school understands each child's strengths and challenges. They tailor their education to challenge without overwhelming them.

As a Board member, I have observed how Thaddeus Stevens provides a first class education to its students. 8th grade graduation is a great example of the school's effectiveness. Julie Hansen gives an award to each graduate based on a person of admirable qualities--this year for example, she gave out the Jane Addams, Dorothea Dix, Steve Jobs, awards plus many others. She talks about the person for whom the award is named, and links that person's admirable traits to the student receiving the award. It demonstrates that Julie knows each student well, and admires each one of them for their uniqueness. I am sure each student will remember for the rest of their lives the award they received.

We transferred our son to the Thaddeus Stevens School from a public school when he was in 4th grade. He was immediately welcomed by students and teachers. He continues to thrive in this school, where learning is tailored to individual needs and learning styles. Highlights include a week of outdoor science, the ski program at Burke Mountain, exceptional math instruction, and a caring community of families and teachers. We couldn’t be happier and expect our son to be well prepared for rigorous academics in high school and beyond.
