No one at this school cares about those kids or their safety. The high school is horrible and needs a completely new staff all around. Lufkin ISD needs nee board members as well.

My experience at this school was characterized by endless bullying and racism - all the way up to death threats on social media from my peers. Everyone around me is very clique-ish and rude; you won't fit in if you aren't rich or colored. Average white kids like myself are simply outcasts. Teachers were horrible and curriculum encourages students to NEVER think outside the box. We are taught to think as machines in this school. The 4 years I spent at this school were the worst 4 of my life! - Senior at LHS

LHS is a good school if the right choices are made. There are a lot of drug and alcohol problems that need to be fixed. The Advanced Placement and STEM courses are college ready classes that help the students if their willing to put forth the effort. The staff is friendly and is helpful, but something about this school doesn't exactly feel trustworthy. I went to this school and felt comfortable and I succeeded, it's not the best school ever, but it's the best school in the area.

If parents put their kids into the advanced classes, there will be a good amount of challenges. However, if the kids end up with the regular classes, many problems will emerge. The school bullying, drugs, fighting, stealing, racism, and gang problems all mixed in such a big campus, which contains over two thousand students. The administration are all related, and it is a typical "family business." Therefore, when problems come up, the solution usually is not sufficient. The school also has a very high turn over rate of teachers. The teachers come and go as often as the toilet flushes. Other than that, it is a pretty good school for ya'll.
