This is a horrible school focused on $. The kids are behind in academics. They do not act Christian toward any recommendations or suggestions from family or professionals involved in your child's life.

Our son has attended Sharp Academy for the past 5 years. The teachers and staff at the Academy are preparing my son for life in the real world and college. We highly recommend Sharp Academy to family and friends. Our son enjoys going to school and playing Basketball. No regrets in sending our son to Sharp Academy because of his learning disability Sharp has help our son succeed in all his classes compared to having him attend a local school.

Sharp Academy is a God's send and has completely changed our child's life. We were at our wit's end when we found Sharp Academy. Our daughter has severe dyslexia and had trouble keeping up in public school. She always would ask "Why am I different". She is now an A/B student, has so much confidence and doesn't ask that question anymore. The staff is so dedicated and makes sure every child is taught the way that they learn. I highly recommend Sharp Academy for any child that learns differently.

Our student has attended Sharp Academy for the last 4 years. This year in addition to his high school curriculum, he took dual-credit classes at Wayland University and he excelled in the classes and maintained a 4.0 GPA. The school offers smaller class sizes with a dedicated, caring, and experienced teaching staff. Adaptive teaching methods to ensure each student has the best opportunity for learning. The campus is well maintained and classrooms are up-to-date with current technology. The school promotes continued education and trainings for their staff.

Sharp Academy is exemplary! My son is in his second year attending Sharp Academy. His ADHD created quite a learning challenge in public school. His self-esteem and grades have soared since becoming a Sharp Saber. He is now an A/B student, participates in Athletics, and Theater and now loves going to school. I am very thankful for the school's mission to educate kid's with learning differences and the teachers and administrators that make it happen.

My daughter has been going to Sharp Academy since she was in the 3rd grade. She is now in 10th grade. This school was a God send for her and for all of us as a family! I highly recommend this school for children with ADHD and Dylexia!

My experience at Sharp Academy has been very good, I have been a student at Sharp for three years now. The students are nice and the teachers are willing to help you and stay after school with you in order to help you with any questions you have about the assignment. Sharp Academy really cares about its students, The teachers are always happy to help, and the teachers will schedule times for students to stay after if they need to. Sharp also cares in that they don’t tolerate any mistreatment of their students especially from teachers. For example i had a teacher that didn’t really want to help us with any questions we had, we would ask if we set up the equation correctly or if we did something wrong when we were stuck on a problem and they would tell us look at the book, even when we already tried to do it from the book and were confused they wouldn’t explain it and kept saying they wouldn’t give us the answer even though we weren’t asking for the answer we were asking for them to explain the example to us. This teacher also thought a student was cheating on a paper just because the student got a good grade, the teacher also yelled at my friend for asking for help after school. The Sharp Staff dealt with this quite quickly and the teacher didn’t stay for more than 11 days. So Sharp cares very deeply for its students and helps them whenever they need it. Sharp also doesn’t tolerate bullying AT ALL!

I was a teacher at sharp academy. The reason teachers have not been able to comment is because they force/trick us to sign NDAs to receive our last paycheck when we quit. I did not sign, because I care about these students. They are not interested in your student's future. I tried to teach, but they wanted me to give them step by step how to get the answer. I was heavily punished by being forced to keep and regrade assignments of students who refused to do their work. They earned the failing grade, because they refused to work. They were taught to rely heavily on me to do everything for them. They were taught to be disrespectful when they didn't get what they wanted (the answer). I want your student to be self sufficient.Students in my class were unable to meet requirements of TEKS multiple grades behind where they were. I am a young teacher and I am taking a risk to do this. Your child can get help, giving them the answers to everything makes them happy for doing nothing. They need these smaller classes and additional time to learn, but they also need to learn so they can have a good future. I was not a fast learner in school myself, there is no problem with that. The turtle wins the race, but if you pick it up and put it at the finish line the story is meaningless. It claims to be a christian school but refuses to have written rules for students. This goes directly against the bible.

Our experience at Sharp has been very positive. Our daughter's grades finally reflect her true abilities. In other schools her grades were lower in part because homework typically was lost either on its way home or to school after completion. Now she completes all her work at school which means no zeros and better grades!Sharp is a small school which means that children who would fall through the cracks in public school, now receive the attention they need. The classes are small, which means every child sits in the front row and every child can develop relationships with their teachers. Because Sharp is small, all children who want to participate in sport teams, or in clubs, or other extra curriculars can do so. Our daughter has played on the basket ball team, which she could never do before because of her height. She is on the Cheer team, which she could not do before because of lack of experience. These two activities alone have made a huge difference in her sense of competence, has allowed her to bond with teammates and make many friends. We highly recommend Sharp Academy for sharp kids who learn differently!

Sharp Academy has shaped our middle schooler and helped her in so many ways. Excellent school, exemplary staff and service. Sharp goes above and beyond to help each child with their specific needs and help them feel successful. Truly a hidden gem in Lubbock!

Our son started Sharp as an incoming 6th grader after having been diagnosed with Conversion Disorder (mid 5th grade) and loosing his ability to walk completely. It was attributed to severe anxiety and bullying that he had received in public school. He wasn't physically bullied however as a student who learned " differently" than others he was constantly "left behind" because he couldn't learn the same way as everyone else. So after 4 months of being wheelchair bound and 15 days of in-patient treatment at a local rehab hospital we made the decision to look for a different type of school for him. When we found Sharp it not only changed his life, but ours too. Our family dynamic changed, his attitude and confidence grew and his love of academics began to grow. He is now in 8th grade, has the highest GPA in his class for the 3rd year in a row and loves participating in an sport they offer. His confidence has grown not only academically but also personally. Sharp is a small, but mighty, school that teaches children how they need to learn. They offer different teaching styles in the classroom, tapered to each child's needs. Even if that means teaching one lesson multiple ways in a single lesson. If you are looking for individualized and personalized high level, one-on-one education for your kid, Sharp is the place to be!

A wonderful dedicated school to teach in a style that students with learning differences such as dyslexia and ADHD can succeed. Class room teacher/student ration is very small.

My son was in public school from pre-K to first grade and could not read, in special education and getting kicked out 2-3 times a week. I enrolled him in Sharp for a summer program for one month twice a week by the end of that summer program he was reading better. We made the decision to enroll him this school year for second grade. Now we are 6months in and he can read phenomenal. He is completely work and reading words every where we go. There approach to read works. Public school couldn’t even get him to write his name. The staff is caring and encouraging. My son self esteem has improved. They are teaching him how to overcome challenges and deal with his emotions which he struggles with impressive decisions. This school teaches there students manners. My son has ADHD and public school didn’t not have the patience or skills to help. They wanted me to drug him up more and more. He is on less medication now but we did add another medication. The staff understands their students medication needs and has knowledge about the effects; they have many students on medication. At Sharp my son feels he is with his people. He has friends that understand him and don’t put him down or look at him differently. He wants to go to school. We are pleased with the staff and the price. The money is worth every penny. You won’t regret it.

I would rate our child's progress with 5 stars! Highly recommend this school to any parent that is looking for a place for their child to thrive! We should have moved our child sooner than we did. Very, very happy here!

Our child attended this school for four and a half years. I thought it was the best thing for him since he was struggling in public school. He made good grades while he attended Sharp. He was even invited to be in National Honor Society just before we decided to leave this school! We noticed at home that he still had difficulty with writing sentences and math. Reading comprehension was difficult also. We only wanted what we thought was best so we kept attending this school. A friend of mine suggested I have him tested at Sylvan, so we did. I was so shocked! It was like we had not attended any school for 5 years. After almost 2 years of tutoring with Sylvan and Mathnasium and a return to public school we are finally beginning to get close to the level we should be.We strongly suggest that you do not waste your time and money at Sharp academy. The teacher turnover rate is high. We personally know many other families that share the same experience as we did.

We have been at Sharp since 2014 and plan to be there through graduation. Our daughter came in as a shy, unconfident child and has grown into a fantastic young lady that recognizes her struggles and can self advocate for her needs. We are so proud of her hard work and thankful to Sharp Academy!

My son has had an amazing experience at Sharp. His health went from being Homebound with intestinal issues to participating in PE and athletics this year. He has been at Sharp for over 3 years. The biggest gift from Sharp has been their support of my family this year as we have faced cancer with our daughter. They have helped in every way imaginable. If nothing but prayers had been shared, they cared. That's why no only my son, but my family has been blessed by Sharp Academy.

This is a great school. We are very happy here and I hope parents will come see for themselves. This school is accredited and that organization checks all the qualifications of the leaders and teachers, the curriculum, test scores, etc. THAT is the information I relied on to make a choice.
