The APEIS Sallie McIntyre is the worst thing that ever happened to this school. She has poor communication skills, people skills and no skills at doing her job effectively. She has a very bad attitude towards parents even colleagues. I personally know people at this school and people there are not happy with her. She talks down on people and abuses her authority. She has no knowledge of anything in her department. There was a special needs child who eloped from the school and a stranger found him and turned him in and NOBODY KNEW. What kind of special ed service is that??? . If your child is in need of special services DO NOT send them here. Sallie McIntyre IS THE WORST! TRUST ME! Marvin, you guys could do so much better without Sallie McIntyre.

Today was the first day back at school after over a year of students taking virtual classes. My son had a nosebleed right before school. They said he'd get a new mask. When my son was picked up at 3pm by the caregiver, he still had the same bloody mask on. CDC guidelines are not being followed for children. The staff could care less.

Horrible experience for my child. She spent 2 years there and gained nothing.

My son has been attending Marvin since second grade and is now in fourth grade. The teacher and staff at Marvin made my son feel welcome and safe. He loves the his teacher and friends and is always excited to share all the amazing things he has learned. He enjoys the arts offered at Marvin which consist of visual arts, music, and dance which allows him to explore his creativity. I enjoy their annual programs specially International day where the whole school participates and its filled with learning of cultures around the world. My son has also enjoyed the after school soccer provided by Mid City Academy on Wednesdays.

My son is in first grade at Marvin and he LOOOOOVES MARVIN! Ever since kindergarten, he felt at home and safe at Marvin! He looks forward to going to school! He loves the office staff, the teachers and all of the friends he has made so far! The community of teachers, parents and staff at Marvin are hard working and loving! They have done everything to make my son feel at home at his place of learning! Everything a mother and father want for their child! Right?

The school is great !! I like that the principal likes to be involved in all activities. One thing that needs improvement is the personal that works in the office. They can be more friendly sometimes they are kind of rude and it seems that they don't want to be bother.

Marvin is a great school. The principle Mr. Chum is very involved with the kids. He waits for the kids at the entrance every morning and you'll see him walking down the halls rather than sitting in his office all day. The teachers are great and caring, well at least the ones I know who are Ms. McPherson, Ms. Woods, Ms. Llanos and Ms. Fuentes. I have two boys and they're are doing great. Thank you staff from Marvin and keep up the good work!!! Also thank you staff from YDP the teachers are also great! Ms. Mitsy and Ms. Reyna! Thank you!

Marvin is a great school. Teachers and staff work very hard. I am very happy to see that more and more parents are now getting involved and help teachers to make school a happy and successful learning experience for our children.

Very deicated principal..no longer Ms. Cass by the way, she was also great, but Mr. Shum is amazing. Wish there was more parent involvement in regards to the kids

We are new to Marvin this school year. We are happy with our child's teacher and feel fortunate to be in her classroom. I experience some of the other staff to be gruff and rough around the edges - not exactly gentle and nurturing to 5 year olds. The office staff are very professional. The Administrative leads are standoffish. Message is: "we want parent involvement". Policy is: "stay out". On the first day of Kindergarten parents needed to go when the bell rung. My child had JUST met the teacher only 3 days before the first day of school. That was sign #1 that there's a lack of awareness of the emotional health and age appropriate needs of these kids. Then 3 weeks later we were told not to walk our kids to their classroom and to say goodbye at the yard. My child was not ready to wander off to the class yet and this was really distressing to her. So the explicit policy is parent involvement, while the implicit policy is drop off your kids and you'll see them (not the teacher - i.e. no check in or feedback) at 2. And the best is that they use candy treats as rewards for good behavior.

This is a great school that offers alot of help for students with any kind of learning dissability. Teachers, psychologist and school principal work together to fit student needs. I as a former student at Marvin Elementary and now my son attending here, am very happy and satissfied with the help he has been provided. I recomend this school to anyone who is looking for their kids to succeed.
