I have three kids at Brawerman East and all three look forward to go to school everyday. The way the school focuses on social emotional well-being of every students is very valuable. My youngest kids have hearing loss and we have had so much support from the school to help them thrive. The staff, students, and parents all feel like a big family

We looked at several public and private schools before deciding to send our child to Brawerman East. Ultimately, the focus on social and emotional learning and integration of Judaism throughout the entire curriculum made Brawerman seem like the best fit. It has exceeded our expectations! We love the small close-knit school community and how supportive all members of the teaching and administrative staff are. We are lucky to be a part of this community.

I am the proud father of 3 Brawerman students (grades 2, K, K). I am so grateful to have my children attend this school. The combination of academic standards and sense of community is second to none. The emphasis on compassion and kindness is seen across all aspects of the school: administrators, teachers, students, and support staff. After taking a tour, I could tell that the campus and amenities were top notch but it wasn't until we got to hear 6th graders speak first-hand about their experience at Brawerman that we were convinced this is the best place for our children to attend school. These 6th graders spoke with confidence and shared their experiences at Brawerman. They have a buddy system were older students are buddies and mentors to younger students, giving them all an opportunity to be mentors and mentees. Finally, I would not overlook the school's diversity which may not be obvious at first sight. Our family is from El Salvador and we have formed friendships with other families from Mexico, Argentina, Israel and Europe that attend the school. We are blessed to be part of this community and encourage prospsective parents to take a tour and see for yourself what Brawerman can offer.

My kids have attended Brawerman East, and I love everything about the school. I feel so fortunate my kids could be a part of this community. It has a great neighborhood vibe, mixed with excellent academics that prepares kids for any of the top high schools. The teachers are truly excellent – everyone involved at the school is smart and engaged about the kids. I wouldn’t say we were originally looking for a religiously affiliated elementary school. But the emphasis on community and service and values really resonated with my family. I know that most private schools trot that line out on tours, but it’s authentic at Brawerman. We’ve never felt out of place not being so religious, and there are all kinds of families at the school. I love that the kids are learning how to move through the world with purpose and community.

Brawerman East is, simply put, an absolutely amazing school. I am so grateful my son goes here. He is in his second year and he loves it. He has loved every single one of his teachers and he loves learning. The teachers and admin are nurturing, wonderful, and caring. The curriculum is top-notch. The clergy that interacts with the kids are incredible. All students attend Hebrew, Art, Music, Science, and innovation classes and every single one of those programs is thoughtful and of the highest quality. There are many fun activities and opportunities for parent involvement if you're into that (I recommend). I've been very impressed with the alumni I've met and they THRIVE at the school they move on to.

Becoming a part of the Brawerman community has been a blessing. I feel so lucky to have found this school for my two boys. Having attended a public school, I was blown away at how a school could teach children at such a high and thoughtful level. My kids are in a loving environment where they are excelling intellectually, emotionally, and socially. The school also encourages creativity, kindness, and Judaism. I love the parents and all the special holidays we celebrate together. Nestled in the heart of Koreatown, this school is extremely safe with lots of security, loving admin, staff, and teachers that really care about my children.

We chose to send our child to Brawerman after having an amazing experience at the affiliated pre-school, and the school has exceeded our expectations. Our child is in kindergarten and the teachers and administration have been supportive of them through simultaneous transitions both at school and at home. The school is not only a place of academic learning, but also our strongest ally in social emotional learning, and is our home for an incredible community of friends. We are gratified to be a part of Brawerman and encourage other amazing families to join us in raising the next generation of Jewish mensches.

Discussing my feelings about Brawerman has to start with gratitude. I had my eye on several other schools for my two boys, but my wife was a huge fan of Brawerman East from the very beginning. She connected to the school and was passionate about our boys attending, so when it came time to choose, it was a no brainer. Now, in our second year, I'm grateful everyday that we found such an incredible school, that goes far beyond its excellent academics. It has a nurturing environment, with extraordinary teachers, and prides itself on fostering socio-emotional growth. It does all of this while immersing its students in a culturally Jewish education. From the moment Covid began and schools were forced to close, they wasted no time in implementing an incredible virtual program. It was nothing short of amazing. Then, when the LA Heath Department began issuing wavers for K-2 students to return, once again, Brawerman was a step ahead and had already invested heavily in implementing an extraordinary protocol that was quickly approved, allowing our kids to return to campus safely. Finally, when my mother suffered a tragic fatal accident several months ago, the Brawerman community immediately rallied around us. As I said, I am thankful everyday that my wife pushed me to send our two boys to Brawerman. The school has already made such a huge difference in our lives.

We have three children at Brawerman East in grades 2, 4 and 6. Brawerman has provided a warm and inspiring environment for our children. They feel comfortable with their classmates, teachers, administrators and other parents. There are two teachers per grade/class so the teaching is catered to each student's learning style and needs. The kids love going to school (never complain!).

To be honest, before moving to LA I never considered private school as an option for our family. However, I’m beyond thrilled that we took the leap! When my daughter started at Brawerman East in Kindergarten, we were impressed with how caring and involved her teachers were in their students’ emotional growth. Over the next few years, we enjoyed watching her grow and thrive — she made great friends, felt comfortable asking her teachers for help, embraced the Jewish lessons, and most importantly was excited to learn. Now she is spending her third grade year in a pandemic, learning from home. We had considered pulling her to just do home-schooling, assuming that we could provide a comparable level for her academics. How hard is 3rd grade math, anyway!?! I am so relieved that we decided to stay the course with Brawerman. They have done a fabulous job pivoting to online learning; really listening and addressing the parents’ concerns. In addition to a laptop and iPad, the students have been provided all the supplies they need for class. She has 4 teachers for her class of ~20, so much of their time is spent in zoom breakout rooms. She has the social interactions with her friends that is important for this age while also going through the full academic curriculum. I’ve always appreciated the extras at Brawerman that many of the reviewers have mentioned (innovation is her favorite because she got to use power tools when it was in-person!), so I’ve been happy to see how the specialists have been able to continue with the at-home curriculum as well. In this unprecedented time while I struggle to work from home, I’m relieved that I don’t need to worry about my daughter’s education too. I am extremely grateful to the teachers, administrators, and parents for the Brawerman community — there is no question that they have the students’ best interest at heart.

I have 2 daughters at Brawerman and couldn’t be happier. The sense of community and family is unparalleled and their growth, both socially and educationally, has been amazing to watch. The administration and teachers create such a warm and inviting environment that allows students to flourish and establish their sense of identity. The facilities are also amazing and state of the art, which allows the students to cultivate and hone their skills in areas like science, robotics and art.As a parent, I have never felt more part of a community and the relationships I have developed over the past few years I know will last a lifetime.

My son began attending Brawerman East in first grade. He is now in fourth grade and each year, he gets two changing/different teachers who care about him and do all they can to provide him an amazing learning experience. The teachers and the school's leadership are transparent, caring and incredibly knowledgeable about educating and stimulating young minds. The school recently underwent an addition/remodel that features state of the art science, art, music and a beautiful well stocked library. There is a community of parents that are socially active within the organization which allows for open discussions with the staff.Unlike many public schools, security is top notch and I feel safe leaving my child there each day.

I cannot say enough GIANT HUGE endorsements of this school. I spent months touring schools, interviewing, etc, and I read reviews on this website. So, I know they can make an impact. Brawerman East is an incredibly well-run, warm, nurturing, thoughtful, FANTASTIC school. It blows every other school I researched out of the water...and although the UCLA Labschool has many virtues, this school is 1000x better IMHO...we transferred our 3rd grader over from there and started a kindergartener. There are very low student-teacher ratios. The principle is brilliant. She is on top of everything that is going on, and thoughtful, efficient and extremely knowledgable about child development. Peggy in admissions is wonderful. And, each teacher and leader we have encountered is kind, smart, caring...it is truly a wow. The Jewish education is warm, inspiring and inclusive...my kids LOVE every teacher and elder they encounter here. And, the parent community too is amazing - inclusive, down-to-earth, wonderfulness. I feel extremely lucky to have joined this incredible community.

I have two children who attend Brawerman Elementary School East and we couldn't be happier. Every year, I am surprised again and again by the high level of education and the dedication and commitment of the teachers to their students as well as the school. In addition to the amazing principal, teachers and other admin, the school has the most up to date technology and an incredible athletic complex on top of the parking structure. I wouldn't send my children to any other school.

My twins are students at Brawerman Elementary School East. I could no imagine have them in another environment. small classrooms. Great teachers and now, with the new amazing facility, superior academics, a wonderful arts, music, technology and innovation and beautiful new sports complex, Brawerman East is THE best school on the East side for academics and superior education.

Brawerman is an amazing community of excellent, well-educated , passionate teachers, a dedicated committed principal and wonderful kids/families. We came to Brawerman before it's new current facility came into being. We took a leap from the beginning, believing the school would become as good or better than Brawerman on the west side, already a great school with a fantastic reputation. Now, with the new gorgeous facility, the superior academics, a wonderful project based curriculum, arts, music, tech/innovation and athletics w/ a beautiful new sports complex, Brawerman East is THE school on the East side for academics and superior education overall. It does not get any better than this.

Brawerman was not a good investment. I feel it was a waste of money. I would not recommend that school to anyone.
