My little cousin was going here and was getting bullied and harassed due to her skin color. The staffs and principal refused to act on the situation. It's been numerous times where she would get called out of her name and feel uncomfortable going to school. This school do not support children of color.

I went to Oak for 2 years, 6th and 7th grade. These were my worst years of middle school, due to some teachers that don't know how to teach, terrible principal, and rude classmates. The school is extremely clique-y and not a lot of people are genuinely friendly. I saw people getting bullied left and right during my stay here. After 7th grade, at least 23 other students from 6th and my grade transferred with me to McAuliffe. Transferring to McAuliffe for 8th grade was honestly the best decision I ever made. Don't go to Oak. Just go to McAuliffe. You won't regret it.

Oak Middle has been the best experience for my children. My oldest stared at oak in the choir program but after on year she found her true calling.Oak Drama. Oak drama has been the best thing that has happened to my child. She has learned to be more flexible to others and more out going. This School has amazing teachers and staff. The Classes that are given are based on the child's effort that they put in the year before. During Covid it was hard for her to be more interactive but,oak really help with learning new things everyday. Oak Middle was one of the best choices we have made. She loves it and as a family we love it. HEAR US ROAR. Oak lions

The principal is unaware of what is being taught at the school, there is a pamphlet pushing critical race Theory, teaching little White boys and girls that they are bad for being white.

Lowest! I regret to spend millions of dollars in buying a house in this school district. The principal of oak middle is the worst of the all! She thinks she owns it. She thinks the middle school children still are like the elementary kids, because she was transferred from elementary before. She retaliate kids and screamed to their parents just because she was annoyed by their bad habits! She lead her team to retaliate her students and calling the parents on a daily basis for the most normal behavioral issues among the teenaged! She is the worst principal we have ever had! Not mention. we had public and private school experience before.

I feel my children (both students at Oak) are privileged & blessed to attend a school as focused on student enrichment as this one is. This experience has, no doubt, prepared our students well for their transition into high school! Thank you Oak Staff ~ we truly appreciate all you do for our children!

(this is from a students perspective) The school is great. it is like most schools in kid drama and all that. ill go from 1 through 10. (2) the school does have an effective approach to homework. Some teachers don't really give homework and some do. I've always had homework in math and core every night, but the other classes i wouldn't have much homework. (3) i would say most teachers at the school are effective. why do i say most. the younger teachers are more effective because they can deal with our attitudes and they can connect with us easier than the more experienced teachers (older). the reason i say that is because the older teachers grew up in a time where there wasn't much technology and where kids use pencil and paper. but the younger teachers understand that using a computer is 10 times faster because they grew up around more technology then the older teachers. (4) i don't know what they mean by leadership. like teacher leader ship or kids leadership so I'm not gonna say anything on that. (5) the school somewhat develops character and all that. why i say they somewhat do is because kids are constantly changing there personality at one point there nice but the next point there trying to be cool and popular and that can destroy character. kids my age have no idea what there doing. and plus you can't really tell what character we are at the middle school age. (6) does the school support learning differences. yes and no. there is honors normal and normal basically. but there is so many more different types of learning differences. at this school your either fast pace or your normal. but to me id rather have more learning specialties. (7) oh this is a hard one. most kids are cruel. putting people down to make them selves more popular. i brought this up but they said this would never happen at oak middle school. i would say solid 4 out of 10 with dealing with bullying. I'm a little weird and different. i don't keep up with trends and i certainly don't try to be popular. when your popular you constantly make fun of people to try to be more popular. what kind of character is that. being popular only brings you so far. all in all its a good school just some teachers have a hard time accepting what is happing in their school.

Oak Middle School has proven to be an excellent choice for our family. My son's teachers offer innovative and engaging lessons, provide frequent communication, and offer extra support when necessary. Oak has an amazing performing arts program; my son's participation in the musical, Suessical, has inspired him to continue in the choral arts. Erin Kominsky, the new school principal, is visible, approachable and hands-on. She has created several campus events and activities that promote community. The campus is pristine and clean; the staff is polite and helpful. Oak is an academically rigorous school that promotes cooperative learning and ignites students' curiosities. Students are encouraged to explore different interests, have fun on campus, and learn through a variety of modalities. I am so pleased with this middle school!
