The Lorena school system continues to grow and is making great strides in technology advances. I am not a graduate from the state of Texas and I have three kids in the schools. Only one plays sports and all three are in band. Overall ALL students are given the chance to shine and are recognized for it. The school is now a 4A school and I believe the poor reviews by parents were made in spite and without much thought.

I am actually a student here and I think that this is a great school because we have some of the best teachers. But like other schools there is that one teacher you don't like. When I took the psat I was well prepared. The same for my eoc/finals. Overall it's a pretty great school.

This school is terrible with pure pressure of being "pretty", "rich", and "athletic" if you are none of those things you are barely recognized for anything. They play the favorite game in everything. (No exaggeration) The only thing that they do not do this in is FFA or Aggriculture class.

We moved to Lorena about 2 years ago and at first were impressed but learned of the political influence so heavily working against our children. My oldest child was cheated out of her well deserved class placement higher on the list. She would take a test and score above 90%. Students making a 80% were allowed to retake their tests; therefore, scoring out-scoring my child on their second attempt. My child didn't get that second chance, why, "We can't let the newcomer do better than our long time students now can we?" Sports, same story, unless you are a teacher's child or have been a long time resident. How can you tell me my child can waste a whole year in the Athletics class and make NO team but can be expected to support athletics by "volunteering" to help at the events. I have reason to believe that if you challenge any of the coaching staff about anything you have basically "screwed" your child out of participating in any sport no matter how good they are or how hard they try. This is true for every extra curricular activity save FFA. I only have good things to report about this group. Lorena ISD has serious issues with planning events also. Very poor!!!
