My son went here for most of k through 2nd and is a GT kid. I had to do so much to have him even screened at SH and was told that they do not really have a GT program and "it's better for kids to be in the classroom." (45 min/wk of AR is their GT program) He is in an unimpressive GT program at another school (That problem will be resolved soon). The staff returned calls about my concerns, they merely "gave me a bone do chew on". The principal clearly doesn't care about the education there and proves to be in it for her own best interest. My kids bowed their heads to say grace before eating, and a teacher told them "you do not have to do that here." When I addressed this with the principal, she told me (and I quote) "I can assure you that the teacher did not tell them that they couldn't pray." My reply "That is understood by a child to mean not to do what they were doing." She had no response. Best features of this school are security, fairly clean campus, the very few dedicated teachers that care and they are aware that they are far behind on the tech curve. They might get good ratings by state standards but their method of delivering well educated students is appalling.

Do not go to this school. These staff may seem nice to you in the first place but when you go to this school, everything goes bad. So my child wasn't being as calm as he should be and instead of talking to him or doing a punishment that would be ok, these staff members lock my son in the isolation room. Not only do they have one isolation room but they have 2. It makes my child very sad for these staff members to lock up my son when really rather then that they should take his recess time away. The staff members of this school when they lock my son in there they annoy my son a bunch, they said repeatedly "(My sons name) do this" and I didn't tolerate that. They also took his lunch away from him when my son wanted to sit next to his friends. This school made my son miserable for the entire time he was there. This school yells at my son when most schools do not yell at their students unless it's majorly but my son didn't do anything majorly. I'm not forgiving this school nor will I. Please do not take your children to this school, anywhere but this school.

My son has attended Spring Hill Primary for two years now, and I must say the first year was trying at best; however this year things are wonderful. To say that a certain school is the best as a whole, to me would be a lie about any school. Parents HAVE to get involved with their children's school and their teachers!!!!! Find out what is going on in the classroom with your child (things they need help on) and practice those things at home.
