My School is Longview High School which is known for its stellar IB program, STEM school within a school, CATE Program, and excellent teachers.

The best high school east of I-45. Longview High School has set transfer records into the school for 4 straight years. Why? Robotics (Tech Bowl) national champs 3 consecutive years; 64 consecutive 'superior' ratings for marching band; Established International Baccalaureate program; More dual credit offerings than any other district in the area; Multi-million dollar CTE expansion, including a culinary arts facility used by a local college; outstanding athletics program (just Google Longview Lobos); and the highest paid teachers in all of east Texas.

Longview High School is a wonderful place to learn. There are programs for all types of learners, from those who plan to attend major colleges to those who wish to go directly into the workforce with a well-paying job.

Longview ISD has the best educational offerings in East Texas. I choose to send my three children to the district, and there are many choices in the area. I recommend the school district to anyone moving to the area or looking for a challenging curriculum.

Super school! Only school in East Texas I am aware of to have won a National Championship in Robotics at the National Technical Students Associations Championships. LHS is World Class at everything. Education, Sports, Band, Orchestra, and diversity. Give your child a complete education and start in life.

GREAT SCHOOL! I am a parent who has had two children graduate from LHS. Both the AP and IB programs are excellent. Our daughter did the AP program and is a recent graduate of Baylor Law School. Other LHS friends are in Dental school and in Med school. They are all finding academic success. Our son just finished LHS through the IB program. What an impressive program! Where else can you take Latin and Baseball? I strongly recommend that you consider Longview. You won't be sorry!

Longview High is the probably the best school all around and this includes the entire state of Texas. This school is ALWAYS competing in the top STATE and NATIONAL academic competitions and that speaks volumes about our staff in training these young students. I see parents on here that have either moved from L.I.S.D. when the atmosphere was rocky back in the early 90's and received the reputation that we deserved at THAT time, of course.

I graduated from LHS and I would never recommend it to anyone. My freshman class had 900 students. We graduated around 400. The students who didn't graduate, never were intending too, and good luck to the teachers trying to get a parent on the phone. The AP classes were great, the regular classes....how in the world could someone not pass them. RUN!!

Have you been to LHS lately? The new principal has done a great job in maintaining a safe and open learning environment. This is not the old LHS. My two daughters graduated from LHS and graduated from UT AUSTIN and U OF H. They were prepared very well for college. LHS has great teachers, facilities, and course selections. I would send my kids there again with no reservations. Please visit and talk to he new principal and see for yourself. Also, please note that most of the negative comments were prior to 2008.
