We are extremely happy with this school. Our son is happy and doing well as a junior in high school at Desiderata. He works at his own pace and isn't over loaded with assignments as he was in the public school system. The staff is compassionate, caring and competent. I wish we would have found Desiderata sooner.

Desiderata did a fantastic job with our kids, who both graduated from Desiderata School.

We have two sons attending Desiderata for very different reasons. Our oldest son is highly gifted and has skipped two grades. He was bored & always stuck waiting for other kids in a traditional school. This school not only allows, but encourages him to work at his rate! Our younger son is a hands-on kind of kid. This school provides him with chances to do, try, learn & grow. He wants to do more because it is "cool" to be smart! The proficiency based model to education is amazing because they will graduate with no holes in their knowledge! I would HIGHLY recommend this school for gifted children who are struggling with pace & access in a traditional setting.

We are so grateful to have found Desiderata for our son! He has been truly accepted for who he is, strengths and weaknesses. He has some mild developmental delays and would have been swallowed up and spit out by public school. It is so refreshing to send him to a school where we don't have to worry about him being overwhelmed by huge class sizes and know that will get the individual attention that he needs. I can't say enough great things about this school. If you have a child that doesn't fit into the standard brick and mortar of public school for whatever reason, I would highly recommend contacting Desiderata to see if he/she would be a fit. Thank you Desiderata for providing such a great alternative to public school, we don't know what we would do otherwise!!

Desiderata has given my student a new love for school that she has never had before. With the low student to teacher ratio she gets individual attention and has learned more in one year than in multiple years of public school.

Desiderata is a great alternative to traditional public school. My daughter was bullied and struggled to apply herself in middle school. Desiderata worked hard to give her the appropriate level of schoolwork in a relaxed and accepting environment. She loves going to school now and considers it her second home. The staff is incredible - challenging her while still accepting her need for a non-traditional environment.

We are so happy we found this school, the staff is caring, patient, and well qualified. Our son struggled for years in a public school setting which led to frustration for the entire family. Now he looks forward to school and is learning so much more than we even expected! They offer a wide variety of options from providing curriculum for home schooling to attending private school full time.

Desiderata has allowed our 11year old son the opportunity to utilize the nontraditional learning environment. Our son has special needs and focusing issues that had caused him to fall behind in the public school system. Since attending Desiderata he is already ahead of where he was at this time last year in public schools and is thoroughly enjoying his class. Not everyone learns the same; however public schools don't have the luxury to allow children the choice of how they would learn best. Our only regret is that we didn't enroll our son in this school when he was 6 years old. The staff at Desiderata truly cares about the students and work with them using any tool available to ensure the highest quality of learning is achieved. Most of the students at Desiderata graduate with their high school diploma well before what would be their senior year in public schools. All students at Desiderata also enjoy the benefit of being able to return to the school for help with their college classes. We have already, and will continue to recommend Desiderata to anyone looking for an alternative to the strained public school system.

I can t even begin to state how pleased we are with Desiderata school in Longmont, CO. Our son has been attending this school for a year now and his progress is far and above our expectations. Due to the low student/teacher ratio, Desiderata is able to provide a stress free, personal, and very interactive learning environment. All of the students become very close no matter their age. The older students are always very eager to help the younger students excel in their studies. At this school students are allowed, and encouraged, to express themselves which promotes a positive learning environment. The amazing Staff at Desiderata has discovered that incorporating a child s passion into their lesson plan aids in a very successful education. I will forever be grateful to this school for the opportunity they ve provided our son.

Both of our children were failing in the public school system. Our son was failing all of his classes and was threatening to quit high school. Our daughter was overwhelmed with the high school experience and hated going. Then we heard of Desiderata School. The one-on-one help they received from their teachers was what they needed. They were able to work at their own speed, which meant that they were able graduate ahead of time. I know that our decision to send them to Desiderata was the best thing we could have done. They both went on to college and now have very good careers.
