Personally have a child in special education program and the teachers and paraprofessionals have been absolutely incredible to work with. They are easy to get in touch with and so supportive of our kiddo. They send home the things he’s working on so we can work with him at home too. I absolutely the passion and dedication of every teacher my child has been under at this school.

Staff well qualified. Strong admin. Good specials, Clear expectations and high standards are set. Like the covered playground for hot and sunny days too. Strong PTA and lots of involved parents. A few dedicated parents help in Media center on regular basis too, which is amazing!

I like the teachers and most staff. I don't like the pick up line for the little kids. I have to wait outside on side of the building everyday to pick up my son in pre-k. The problem is that I also have another son that is an infant. This is a problem especially in bad weather.

Front Office staff is awful! So rude! I have never experienced anything like this in a school setting! So sad we just bought a house and are stuck!

Such a great school! The teachers care about the students and take their time to ensure they are learning. I transferred my 3rd and 4th grader here and wouldn't have it any other way! What a great place for them to be with school leaders that are amazing and personable. I love Youth for my kids!

I was shocked to see other mothers shear the same concerns that I have felt. Now I know it's not me being impractical. The front office at Youth Elementary is very impersonal and come a cross RUDE. I as well have felt treated rudely by the women in the front office and the workers in the after school program. I'm not impressed with the IEP accommodations or the after school tutoring. It's like pulling teeth to get anyone to listen when you know your kid is struggling. I feel like no one cares about the well being of my child's individual needs. It's very SAD and frustrating! My child is so overwhelmed and still isn't getting the help that is needed. I wouldn't recommend this school to a parent who is looking for a community that embraces each other with support and encouragement. I want a school that my child can learn from, not a school I can brag about because the test scores are high. Our children's schools should be about the Community. I've visited two other local public elementary schools in the area recently and was greeted with a genuine smile. Not only were they nice but very helpful and available. We need to stick together or we as parents will lose our voice. We are our child's voice. Stand up and do the right thing. This community needs the leaders at Youth to humble themselves and grow in love for these children and parents. The staff is as strong as it's weekest link! That's pretty bad when the leadership is questionable!!!!. This school needs leadership and as of now I do not see any. I will not be returning the following year if I can help it. My child is being overlooked and pushed through the system. I wrote this out of frustration looking for a change. Thanks

! Absolutely NO CONFIDENTIALITY at all when you bring your concerns to administration. Rude staff and teachers. All they care about is money and scores. Staff and administration have their clicks and favorites. Concerned about themselves not parents when doing things that are convenient for them. Never see but a few staff at events, etc... So disappointed, can't wait until my children no longer go there.

The teachers don't wear name badges or identify themselves in any way. They seem to do only the minimum of what is expected of them. They ignore parent concerns and fail to embrace technology. The front office staff is super RUDE. The nurse is uncaring towards the students and even turns them away from the clinic. The admin only care about scores and ignore parent concerns. The counselor is nice but doesn't seem to do much for children with behavior issues. I hope they get their act together for the students' sake.

Let the record speak for itself. Youth Elementary always rates among the top schools in standardized tests. People move into the district from other areas so that their children can attend Youth. Many schools have high turn over among staff, but at Youth people rarely leave. Staff from other schools are waiting in line to get a chance to transfer to Youth. Many staff members have their children at Youth, not just out of convenience, but because they see for themselves what excellent teachers there are. The administrative staff does address parent concerns in as timely manner as possible.

I concur with the last review. The office staff is RUDE as well as the after school care staff. They are unfriendly, look like they HATE their jobs and the principal is lazy and uncaring. I reached out to her regarding my son being very unhappy with his class this year with legitimate reasons and she sent me a very aloof email and dodged my concerns to meet with her. The front office staff is VERY cold and uninviting and act as if you are "bothering" them instead of being helpful and doing their jobs. My daughter's friend has come home with lice on many occasions without the teacher even notifying her that they had an entire classroom lice check!

Youth elementary is the most horrible school we have been too . The teachers are some what ok and the office staff is rude rude rude !!! If ur looking for a friendly school then DONT go to youth elementary school !! They should maybe check into a new office staff and maybe some would be happy to put their child there !! Never in my life been so disgusted with a school .....

We have had 2 children go thru YES and another one is still there and we would not had it any other way. All of our kids excel in their grades and scores, which is great testimony to the dedication of the teachers and staff. The teachers are exceptional and really care about each one of their students. They are always available thru email and answer any questions we have about class room assignments. The school administration is world class and know the parents and students by name and often know what the kids are apart of in the community. The parents are extremely involved and often are at the school helping in any way they can. The are even extra activities for the kids such as acrhery (placed several times in the state competition) and Early Birds program for kids to be apart prior to school that really helps with character building (not school or county funded) but funded by the teachers themselves. Truely world class......

I was nervous to transfer here from a school we were very happy with. I could never have dreamed that YES would exceed all of my expectations. Both of my children have had a great experience, wonderful teachers, caring staff. The principal is involved in everything, always with the students and knows many by name. Awesome parent involvement and I always feel welcome there. Budget cuts and tough economy has led to loss of field trips in many public schools. Extracurricular activites are present but as far as sports, that doesn't happen in elementary schools here, there is a rec department through the county for that. I am a very particular parent and cannot think of a single complaint about this wonderful school. I work full-time and still would find it hard to NOT be involved in my children's education. The staff does a great job of keeping parents in the loop, excellent communication to parents and plenty of options to be there fo your child around any schedule! Great job Youth!!!

My child just finished the 3rd grade and we love Youth. The principle and teachers really care for the students. They are there for parents also. I cannot say anything negative about them. I am excited for my youngest child who will start K this year, to have the wonderful education that my oldest has. They encourge parents to get involved everyday and we are always in the know of whats going on. Thank you Youth for being the school I have always wanted my kids to attend.

We relocated from out of state nearly two years ago. We completed a great deal of research on schools prior to purchasing our first home. YES had exceeded my expectations as a parent. Hands down this has been the best school my children have gone to!

The high ratings below need some balance. YES for Youth? NO!!! Unless you grew up here or enjoy small minded politics, move to a different area of Loganville. The parents were uninvolved, the PTO was a nightmare of wanna be high society women, and the principals were clueless and could care less about community or individual student needs. Everyone was out for themselves here. The staff seemed exhausted and unfriendly, with the exception of one or two teachers, who should go work elsewhere. At Youth our favorite part of the day was 3:20 (time to go home).
