Initially it was okay, not good but tolerable. Over time we have come to realize the teachers and administrators are not truly happy with their job. Teachers stonewall students, especially children with disabilities, mental health issues, etc. It is not an uplifting or encouraging environment. The daily discouragement will end a childs motivation in school. Aside from that, there is virtually no contact between teachers/administration and parents. The issues I've mentioned have made motivating our child to want to go to school and engage is that much more difficult. What happened to the day teachers had a fire, a passion to teach? If you've found yourself miserable in your job teaching then find a new job. Staying in a position with children who need a passionate teacher and not being that person only inhibits children and their growth. With that said, I would definitely not recommend this school.

My son went here and liked it and now my daughter and she absolutely loves it. For the first time ever she doesn't cry to got to school and never wants to miss any days. She loves her teachers, which is such a relief as a parent. The PTSA has been great and the staff is friendly and helpful. I also love that they always keep a deputy at the school, it makes my kids feel safe while they are there.

Wonderful school in a safe neighborhood. Great teachers and faculty. Wish there was more parking, otherwise a fantastic school!

We are new to Florida. My daughter is a new 7th grader. After searching all of the Tampa area for a good public school, we landed here in FHW to attend Barrington. We heard a mix of things from parents about Barrington Middle before enrolling her. I must say I have been impressed with the school. There are typical things like an occasional fight or kids vaping- and the school is still overcrowded… but the teachers have been amazing. My daughter has felt very welcome and has met amazing kids. There are lots of things to keep parents and students involved. I feel like the team of teachers and staff truly care about students success. So happy we landed here at Barrington!

We're new to the FHW community however are very impressed with the local schools. Being a military family we move every 2-3 years and this is the best school we have experienced, even when comparing to a private school!

My daughters were getting bullied the whole time there I had to pull them out it was like this for 2 years and we've told the teachers about to problems and they never did anything about it except say they would but it still continued on the bus as well the had the footage of the being bullied and getting things like scissors thrown at them and water dumped on them which was the limit because one of my daughter's allergic to water. The teachers knew they were struggling but never helped them at all and just gave them the work and told them to finish it all before the week ended honestly no one there cared about anything all the kids were rude as well they were all stuck up rich kids and adults.

I have no idea how this school is getting a score of 4/10. I had two kids attend here and both had a fantastic experience. My older student was having trouble with math, and the teachers went out of their way to provide tutoring and extra help for her, and it really got her back on track. My younger student was into their sports and band programs, and band in particular was outstanding. I've seen lots of students from Randall, and I'll argue any day of the week that this is a better school overall. They all go to New some, and it would be interesting to see what academic success there looks like between Randall and Barrington students - I'd bet anything Barrington comes out ahead there. Either way though, what REALLY matters in middle school is parent participation, and all of the schools out here are outstanding because of this. The PTSA is strong, the booster programs are huge, and the academic and extra curricular performance of the students reflect this.

This school is terrible and should be avoided at all cost. There is zero accountability from the administration, in regards to discipline.

We absolutely love this school! I have 2 older children who had attended a neighboring middle school so I have something else to compare it to. The energy at this school is so positive! I have no complaints. Their extra curricular programs were great. The teachers were wonderful and caring. I 100% recommend this school. My daughter made great friends and experienced a wonderful time- that's saying a lot for middle school!

Loveddd this school- went here for my 8th grade 2018-2019 year and wish I would've gone all 3 years of middle school. It really is a great environment.

Very surprised it was a 6 out of 10/10. Would've believed around an 8. The school is very good and works very well with my daughter who has a 504c.

This school is amazing. Even though it's overcrowded and this definitely makes things harder for the administration, the Principal and APs are just awesome! Teachers are incredible, they make their classes fun and take the time to know their students. Overall, a great experience.

We love Barrington. I am surprised to see it has a 6 out of 10, I would rate it as a 10 out of 10.

School has gone downhill after new administator who arrived the 2016-17 year started working at Barrington; everything she speaks about is turned negative, whether she is getting rude feedback from kids or not. There are no apparent role models for the students. After the 3 middle school years at Barrington, most people come out with worse overall attitudes.

I love this school! My boys love this school. Amy Raplier, the principal, takes the time to not only keep parents well-informed, but she also makes a genuine effort to make the students, as well as the parents feel welcome and safe. I have not had a personal interaction with the Principal, but I feel like all of the teachers for both my boys (6th and 7th grade) are on the same sheet of music. That is just not possible without good, caring leadership! I am truly grateful that my children are zoned for this school.

After some adjustment and having to assert herself my daughter actually enjoyed being at this school. In the beginning many of the students were not welcoming and tried to intimidate her. Thankfully, we have taught our daughter to stand up for herself. Unfortunately it took a couple of months of this before these other students left her alone. However, she had an amazing science teacher. She absolutely loves Mr. Gratzik. She has learned so much in his class. He pushed and motivated her, dealt with her highly inquisitive nature, and she has absolutely flourished He even commented to her that she changed the climate of his classroom. Most teachers don't like when they are questioned, they feel as if their authority is being challenged. I guess scientists are different that way. They question everything, and probably see it as refreshing rather than a challenge to their authority. Thank you Mr. Gratzik for being amazing at what you do and making my daughter's time there enjoyable!!!

I went there from the year it opened in 2009 up until 2012. Overall, the teachers are great, and they take their teaching seriously. In 8th grade, I had a teacher who taught physical science, Mrs. Rauld. I don't know if she still teaches there, but she was the nicest teacher BY FAR while I was there. They also have great recreational activities for your kids. I played flag football in 6th and 7th grade and I loved it. The AP's also take their job seriously and will do whatever they can to help you. One of the AP's, Mr. Magera, was a bit rude when I went there, but he was alright. The food is mediocre, and their dedication to helping kids score good on the FCAT is superb. Their FFA, FBLA, and NJHS programs are superb.Overall, I recommend this middleschool and your child will definitely have favorite teachers and make plenty of friends!
