- Submitted by parent on July 14, 2021Although Pius X HS is regarded as one of the best high schools in the state, our experience found it to be completely average at best. A few of the students are highly talented and/or academically gifted and are going on to top colleges. They are the exception though. Most students end up attending fairly mediocre colleges. Many of the school’s sports teams end up winning the state championships; if your child doesn’t play sports, that doesn’t mean much.Academics are satisfactory but not exceptional. As expected of a Catholic school, the teachers are highly religious. (That doesn’t stop some of the kids from inappropriate activities in the bathrooms.). In addition, the teachers seemed to be very caring and approachable.Some of the moral teachings I found to be really odd; for example, students are encouraged not to be busy because that means less time for God. Perhaps people who are busy are using their God given talents. Really strange.Unfortunately, the leadership at the school is extremely liberal politically and discussion and disagreement is highly discouraged. I feel it is inappropriate for school leadership to comment on political issues.
