As a student, Lux is a pretty good school. Curriculum can be boring and even sometimes Christian, but all the teachers are supportive and mean well. Counselors are effective and supportive. However, there are also some cons. Generally, you have 3 options: all advanced classes, all normal classes, or all special Ed classes. Parents are almost never asked to come in unless the student is in trouble. Bullying is also rampant. Faculty seem happy, but maybe that's because they almost never actually care about the students.

Lux gets two stars for excellent teachers. LPS is a wonderful district and you really can’t go wrong for most schools. This would be the one exception. If you’re not rich, if your child doesn’t have a very specific personality archetype and they’re not excelling in social skills or if they’re not already in with a group of kids, If you’re not friends with other parents at this school, this is going to be torture for them despite the good education. I don’t recommend it at all. Move more southeast lincoln if you’re looking for a community with more tolerance.

My son has attended Lux MIDDLE School since 2021. With ongoing bullying issues I went to the faculty to seek help for my son. Bullying was dismissed and denied by the faculty. I am still waiting for a meeting regarding these issues. My son has been treated unfairly and bullying concerns are not taken seriously by the faculty. Furthermore, my son broke his clavicle bone on school property and I was denied information as to the incident and it was stated by the principle I was a conspiracy theorist and an overly concerned mother. Would not recommend this school or it’s approach to follow anti bullying laws.

Lux middle school teachers are dedicated to teaching the students, with enough programs after school event help the students direct their interests. These teachers know their students names, likes, and work with that knowledge and dedication to empower their students to succeed. The school itself is a well lit school with lots of sky lights, the design minimizes interaction between the 6, 7, and 8th grades. Supervision coverage is fine. The technology of LPS allows any parent to review their student's homework, grades and attendance. With this no parent should be caught unaware about their student's grades.

I am a student at this school and I love it. I have never been bullied in the school and my teachers are super nice. I am a 6th grader and I hope that nothing happens to the school I like it how it is and always will

If you are white and rich this is a good school, but you re not, your better off transferring out. If you express your concerns to the Principal you are wasting your breath.
