I’ve had 2 kids go to lehi elementary and I have been very happy with their progress. Every teacher my kids have had have been amazing. They have worked hard and well to teach my kids. The school has out a lot of things into place over the years to get students test scores up, and to make the school a more safe place (I read a review from 2010 that talked about flood safety. That has been fixed and it is no longer an issue each spring). I have been very happy with my experience at this school and would highly recommend it to anyone considering moving into the area.

We are thrilled to have a 1st grader at Lehi Elementary, and especially to know how much our child is already looking forward to 2nd grade here. Mr Miller has such dedication to the kids, to the school and to the community. He is at every school function passionately being involved in ensuring each kid gets the education they deserve.

I currently have two kids enrolled at this school. I love everything about t! It's a small school with a small community feel, in a good way! The principal, Mr. Miller, took over in 2012 and has made huge, drastic improvements to the way things are run. He takes the time to know as many students and parents as possible, by name, and is obviously invested in the education and well-being of the kids. You will almost always see him in the hall, front office or parking lot helping kids and parents. And if l ever have a question or comment, I feel heard. The staff and teachers are wonderful, friendly and committed to excellence, with a very few minor exceptions. The new after/before school programs, including Science labs, ballroom, drama, gifted and talented, and more, are run by amazingly dedicated teachers. The PTA is very involved and has implemented some wonderful programs as well. I am so thrilled with my choice to send my kids to school here and feel like they are getting the education they deserve.

I had to take a minute to update the reviews. There have been great changes at this school. I have had 4 out of my 5 kids attend here and for each of them it has been a good experience for different reasons. The basic mentality is that all the teachers really want the child to succeed. They care and put time in constantly to improve every year. They evaluate and change teaching throughout the year to fill the needs of the children constantly. There are new programs at the school that are motivating the children to do better all the time: early morning double dosing, gifted and talented, drama club, band, choir, and interactive flex time are just a few. They just added a science lab for the kids to really roll up their sleeves. So don't give up on this little school yet because sometimes the best things come in small packages.

I have one child in 1st grade and another in 6th grade. The 1st grade teacher doesn't seem to understand basic grammar or how to spell properly. The 6th grade teacher is not fair with the way she treats the children. There is one child who is a serious trouble-maker, but he gets away with it and even gets to participate in the activities all the other kids must work hard to earn. Kids were not allowed to get a drink of water all day once, except for at recess. Problem is, the line for the drinking fountain was so long, not all kids got a chance to get a drink. There is no drinking fountain outside, so they only had a few minutes while going out or coming in. The new principal is just as bad. . Children are not allowed to leave the school at the end of the day through the main front doors. They get a pink slip if they do. The principal also increased the length of lunch time and decreased the length of recess to accommodate the few kids who took too long to eat their lunch. The kids must use a tennis racket and tennis ball to play softball. They are also not allowed to go on the hill during recess, all because of "safety". Oh, please.

I have one child in 2nd grade here. I've served on the PTA board and as a room mom for 3 years. My son's teachers have been awesome and his grades are great, but the school as a whole has problems. Our CRT score average for 2010 was in the 70s. The school is the oldest in the district and floods every year, presenting a safety hazard. Only part of the school was remodeled/added on to a few years ago; the rest is not earthquake-ready. The low test scores etc. prevent needed funding from coming to the school. Except for a core group of dedicated parents, there seems to be a general attitude of complaisance towards the school's problems. Hopefully, the new principal will turn things around, but she has an uphill battle ahead of her.

There is a new principle and she's wonderful! I have one in Third, and one in Kinder, and both teachers are wonderful. They're all about positive discipline and helping the kids grow and learn. The teachers aren't afraid to ask for help from the parents when needed and are on top of things. I'm very happy I've enrolled my children here, especially after being hesitant with old reviews here while researching the school.
