BEFORE YOU SIGN YOUR LEASE OR MORTGAGE AGREEMENT IN THIS AREA FOR THIS SCHOOL...PLEASE READ!! This school is by far the absolute worst school in Gwinnett County! Don't get me wrong, it looks pretty but the inside is filled with office administration (with the exception of Ms. Williams that buzzes you in), that does NOT know how to talk to parents or students. The Principals are in the dark or nearly don't care about what's happening at the school.. The teachers absolutely hate their job and tolerate your children - whether they are good or misbehaved. I thought the lunch ladies would be different - nope same terrible attitude. They should shut down the school and replace all the teachers, admin and Principals that have a heart for children!

My neice is in 5th grade in kanoheda. She comes home every day and doesn't understand her homework. My sister wrote several notes to the teacher about her not understanding and to please try to explain the homework before sending it home. I went over some homework with her recently and I felt perplexed because I felt like there was information missing. My sister said when she comes home with worksheets they are always missing information or not explained correctly. I went ahead and advised her to contact a superintendent or the board of education since her the lettes she was sending were not acknowledged nor was the problem ever fixed. I am so disappointed that my niece is struggling like this and there is no help given by the teachers nor the principal. I gave this school the star it deserves and I am sure after reviewing the statistics of the test scores you would understand why. My advice to the teachers, please, if your passion is not into teaching and molding young minds, choose another path in life. These are our next generations and the only thing these teachers are doing is letting these kids down in their education.

My boys are currently attending school there. So far they are doing well. They are having an OK experience. Although, some of the teachers need to work on notifying parents when their child is not doing OK in class. My boys like it there.

Prior to my daughter's entry into Kanoheda, I was concerned she would not get the best education based on the school's rating on this and other sites. Weighing my options, I made an appointment to be given a tour of the school and meet key staff. Everyone welcomed my interest, and I was really impressed by the school's data showing student achievement. Title I monies allowed for additional resources to support classroom instruction. I observed a clean, orderly school with happy teachers and students. I decided to give the school a try, and I haven't not regreted one day of the nearly three years my daughter has been in attendance. The school has routinely gone above and beyond to meet the academic needs of my gifted student. She loves her school. I routinely volunteer in the school, and I know that these folks do amazing things for their students coming from challenging socioeconomic conditions. Thus, the ongoing deficit of parental involvement. Before judging the value of a school for your child, make sure you fully check into it.
