They let their students get bullied and not do anything about it. Always say their cameras are down. When a threat is made on a student they won't do anything until you write a report is made by the parent to do their investigation. Be careful if your child goes here or if you plan to.

I would rate this school a 4. It has gone downhill so much. The first 2 years my children attended were great, these last 2 years have gotten harder and harder. Many of the good teachers and good principals have been replaced.

Wow! I'm seeing some great changes within the school. I love how the teachers have jumped into academic lessons from day one. I feel like the staff is really on top of things this year and will show great improvement with our children. Each of them care about our children and have their best interest in mind. I love seeing everyone motivated! Parents, however, need to get involved more! At the PAC meeting, they mentioned the need for parents. Let us know what you need and then we can see if we can help the school & kids.

Highland is hands down the best elementary school in Las Cruces. Both of my children have been through this school K-5, for a total of 9 consecutive school years. The teachers are caring, nurturing and knowledgeable, there are opportunities for an after school program through the City of Las Cruces, Student Council, Young Rembrandts art lessons and Las Cruces Chess Academy are some optional after school programs (free or very low cost for these opportunities). The playground area is huge and the school is in a family friendly neighborhood. There are many opportunities for parents to get involved in the school - PTO, Volunteer in Classroom, Volunteer in AR store, Volunteer for Safe Routes to School Program, Book Fairs, Career Day, Science Fair to name a few. We have been so happy with our years at Highland and will truly miss being a part of this amazing school family!
