I love this school. I can say that my daughters have the best teachers. the staff is kind and helpful.

This staff has really made my children feel like family over the years. Especially during this Pandemic, you find out who people really are. They are always so pleasant and easy to work with! You can tell that they are their for the love and not the paycheck! My oldest is now in high school and she still speaks so highly of the staff and ask about them often! This past week I received a call from Mrs. Hayes to come pick up a thanksgiving basket that I did not request or knew anything about but it definitely came in handy! I can go on and on but I had to write a review because Gaywood goes above and Beyond every single time! Thank you staff! - The DeLeons

I love That school because the teachers are very nice and they care about kids.

Sent my child to Gaywood VERY RELUCTANTLY. Heard only negative things about the school. Felt slightly better after new principal was brought in and made some improvements like a PTA, making AYP, school garden. Even with those improvements, school no where near what I would want for my kid. Then another new principal was brought in and it was a VERY ROCKY start. After a year or so, though, things got better in terms of the school spirit, Internet wiring, art class, student incentives like coupons, switching classes so kids have specialized teacher in core subjects, improved appearance. HAPPIER FEEL, even nicely painted murals and school sign. Biggest thing STILL LACKING: academics, extracurricular. Like most public schools, Gaywood OVER-EMPHASES testing, teaching seems too tightly wound to standardized test. Early dismissal school, so working parents may not like that there are no afterschool activities. Tutoring program but only for low-performing students. No science lab. No sports or aftercare. Few fieldtrips. For comparison, nearby Magnolia has LEGO robotics, NASA partner, Science Bowl. Wish Gaywood had that. Bright spots: office staff, DR. JAMES, parent liaisons, good kids.
