Overall i love Machado like i said the current Principle is great she has introduced lots of programs for students like STEAM clubs, Robotics, family events like Family University and she meets monthly with parents to discus any issues and go over school curriculum especially for Spanish and bilingual parents. Shes very involved in everything. PTA is amazing but i due wish more parents would get involved instead of complaining. I have volunteer many times at this school over the years and i know that the staff do their very best for all the students.

If youi want your child to get an actual education, do NOT send them to this school. This place is horrible. All of the staff is incredibly rude. They don`t talk to you, they yell at you. If they`re going to treat parents in such a manner, I can only imagine what those kids go through everyday. Even the crossing guard right out front is rude. The principal is rude. The school has run out of food for the kids in last lunch on more then one occasion. All they offer is 12 different varieties of chicken, anyway. My son`s teacher can`t even be bothered to do anything she said she would. She won`t set up a conference, or email me when she says she will. She has an attitude, too. There`s not one person that I have dealt with up at this school that should be responsible for children. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Very limited information sent home to parents/guardians, some rude office staff (rude to homeless people who are already struggling), too much traffic dropping off and picking up, called teacher and never returned call's. Very nice nurse. Rather than following up with parent/guardian on absences they send you a truancy notice. Lack of support for students who are behind, have emotional problems, or have previously been followed since Kindergarten by Student Success Team at another Lake Elsinore School for not being at grade level and still isn't. Communication with parents/guardians is key, written policies not last minute changing the rules, provide after school care playtime/ gametime for students and parents/guardians due to the early release from school not just the Think Together Program which I'm sure is great but most go daily with no absences. More approachable office staff. A school counselor/ psychologist that reviews incoming students paperwork and schedules time with parent/guardian to come up with a plan for student success. I believe student success, safety, and communication for effective learning are keys to improvement.

I'm sorry to hear how bad this school and the surrounding area has become. I went to Machado from 2nd-6th grade back in the mid to late 80's and it wasn't that bad. My favorite teachers were Mrs Theresa Thompson. Mrs Sarah Crumbo & Mrs Reyes (can't remember her first name.)

This "school" if it can even be deemed a school, is an embarrassment to the district. I've noticed a few good comments regarding teachers. Listen people there are good teachers even in the most horrible schools but overall the blame is not on the teachers but the community in which this school is located. I have never written a review before and felt appalled by the good comments I've read. Either the commenters have no clue what a "good" school is or the teachers/staff wrote it in an attempt to portray the school as 'decent'. This school is far from decent and I as a tax payer am outraged that I am finding such a disaster. There is no parent involvement whatsoever and it is located in the center of chaos! If you are looking for a school full of lockdowns, uncleanliness, rude staff and horrible test scores, well this is the school for you. I'd honestly rather home school my child then force them into this school. I can't believe I am financially supporting a school that sets up kids for failure! Simply... It's a HORRIBLE school!

I could not dislike a school more if I wanted to! I have 2 students who (must to my dismay) attend this "school". I cannot wait until the school year is over! MAKE IT END! Nobody speaks English, and heaven forbid they be on TIME for anything! I cant even count on the teachers to pick my kids up on time OR show up for that matter! I have seen the interactions the staff has with students and I am APPALLED! They don't treat the kids like KIDS and rather like objects devoid of feeling! They withhold important information from parents and HOUND you about tons of meaningless nonsense! The only times I have been forced to speak with members of the staff I have to listen VERY hard to translate or decipher what information they are trying to relay! Most of the time when I am picking up or dropping off my students there is POLICE posted everywhere, NOT very reassuring! I will NEVER let my children attend this place ever again! I suggest you find another school as well!

My kids go to this school. I hate it the teachers blame their inability to teach correctly on budget cut. And when i step in as a parent the teachers get mad and take it out on the children. My daughter has been working hard and i am even paying for a tutor for her and i got her report card and the teacher can not even recognize that she has improved. Hate this school cant wait tell school year over to take my child out of this school.

The school has 95% non-English speaking students (Hispanic). The kids have to learn two languages. How can they be good using English books,if it is not their home language? It's harder. The office workers are very nice, and try to be helpful. The teachers work hard to teach the non-English population. Thank you Machado teachers! You are super!
