I literally never leave reviews for anything. No time. But this school deserves a minute of my time. We drive our kids 25 minutes each way to attend the Spanish Immersion school. I have a 1st and 2nd grader. The teachers are amazing and know each child individually. Couldn't be more pleased. No bullying problems at all and I am always a little paranoid about that. The school has a diverse population and the faculty have stepped up and addressed the racism issue head on. Principal has stepped and shown some leadership around this in emails and there are even classes being offered for parents in how to talk about racism. Emotional regulation is being taught as part of curriculum. This feels like a place where people are coming together to journey how to do better, just with just words, but in deed. Hoping to see more diverse staff as time goes on.No homework in elementary school, but encouraged to read every day and play math games, etc.

LE has dedicated faculties and staffs. We moved from a 9/10 rated east coast school, and the learning experience here is actually better. Ms. Bolstorff is Amazing! Her design of differentiated learning activities according to individual needs is the best!

My kid used to study here and later moved to another school district. That's when I realized how much they don't do at Lake Elmo. The students who are ahead of others would need to wait around for the other kids to catch up...they are not given any challenging work. There is no additional language program. The gym is only two days a week. In the neighboring school district there is 4 days of gym and intense exercises at that. The other district has Spanish or Chinese program which really helps kids as they go to high school and require language for graduation. The choir program in the other school district is amazing and the concerts are more like college concerts. The curriculum is advanced according to need and smart kids are not expected to sit through material they know or learnt years ago. Even in Kindergarten they do this advancement in math and reading....I see that it was lacking in Lake Elmo. Hope they will improve.

This school is an amazing place for children to learn together as a family of multi-cultural children. They get to learn about cultural diversity and acceptance of everyone!

Two of our four children attended Lake Elmo. Having come from Rutherford, we did have some speed bumps (including Ms. D, a 6th grade teacher who thankfully is no longer there) but with the exception of one teacher, we were very pleased with our childrens' experiences at this school.
