Rutherford is great. The students are kept active in a open learning setting that improves their social skills and relationships with peers. My kids come home happy everyday and when challenges arise, the school and staff is good at dealing with them right away. Homework is given, but not overwhelming amount. Rutherford is good at focusing on the basics - math, reading, writing, and very strong in science. They also go above and beyond by teaching public speaking skills early. Students can start band in 5th Grade. Field Trips and school events are always often and well organized. The Rutherford PTA is strong and does great work to support the students as well.

We are a new Kindergarten family at Rutherford and could not be happier! We moved to Stillwater from the city to be a part of Stillwater schools and Rutherford has not let us down. From our very first interaction with the staff and students we have felt very welcome! The staff is professional and caring, as are the students and parents that we have come into contact with so far. We chose Rutherford as an alternate enrollment option because of the strong teacher leadership and parent involvement. We looked into and applied to many different educational options. While the curriculum may not be the most rigorous compared to some of the charter options we pursued, Rutherford seems to focus on the child in a global perspective. This focus helps children to become educated as well as well rounded! In our opinion so far we definitely made the right choice for our family choosing this awesome school for our daughter!

The former principal had the children's best interests at heart. I have no idea why the school would change something that was so positive for what is there now. I have seen the cohesive teaching staff fragmented into cliques of those who are favorites and those who aren't. The stress is evident in how my children are treated and the behavior of those teachers who are not in the favorite category. CHANGE IT BACK.

Wonderful school the teachers are amazing!! My son went there and he is now at the Junior high and he excels. My daughter is there right now and loves it and so do I. very polite children, almost all of the children that attend come from stable homes. The principle is great h knows my child's name and enjoys talking with the students. The school has great after school fundraisers my daughter always looks forward to them, parents are very involved so the fundraisers are very nice. A lot of very nice technology, the school is very updated. We debated on sending our kids to private school but realized that this school was nicer than the private school. RECOMMEND TO ANYONE
