My daughter has gone to West Glades for the past few years now. It's a nice public school and great teachers. I was kinda worried since she was being transferred from a really great Christan school. The only problem I've noticed about the school is the ladies at the front desk in the office. Their very rude and two faced. I over heard the two talking about my daughter and I as they thought I had left the room. They always have a rude comment toward me when I need something. I really wish something could be done about that. They really do not need the job if they can't be professional working at the school.

My school is great because all the staff that works at this school actually care about the kids. Not only do they all (from front office to every teacher and custodian) know all the kids by their names, they take the time to talk to our kids to help them beyond academics. We see each other in town and we say hello and ask how they are doing? They make the difference, because everything is not black and white, they understand difficulties that families are going through and they go out of their way to help out in a discrete way. I have never had an experience where a teacher was negative towards a student, and i used to be a volunteer and eventually a substitute for awhile. So I got to see the inside of things. I have to say, that we are very priveledged to have the staff that we have at our school. My son has been at this school since Kindergarden and he is in 5th grade, we were struggling to keep our home and the only reason I kept on trying to save our house is because I did not want my son to have to change schools. When he was in 2nd grade I had to temporarily move to another county for 6 months. What a nightmare! No comparison is so many levels! We are fortunate!

My children have attended this school for the last four years, and, including this upcoming year, will have attended every grade from K through 8th. The school was relatively new when we first started, and had to work through some growing pains and staff issues. The quality of the teaching staff and leadership has continued to improve as time has passed. Most of the teaching staff has remained unchanged. The school reached the pinnacle of excellence achieving an A rating from the State for the 08-09 school year. I have recommended this school to many friends and newcomers to our town. It really is something to be proud of.
