This school cannot solve the transportation problem of picking up and dropping off children every day. The parking spaces are all for teachers and nobody can park on the spot even it is vancant. We have a disabled license plate but when the male principal saw us parked the car at the disabled parking, he came over to question us almost every time. Only when he saw our disabled sign then he left. It makes us highly I doubt whether he discriminates against disabled people or Asians. It requires cars to turn left at a traffic light to the school loading area. It took at least 15-20 minutes to wait for turn as many cars are jammed at the loading zone. In order not to pick up or drop off our children late, my wife and I have to go together to pick up our children. One of us would have to get off the car halfway and walk to the school gate to pick up our children. The principal does not focus on how to resolve the biggest problem of transportation and the only way he does is to send warning letters to parents warning them their children were late but not addressing the core issue. There are volunteers guiding the transportation at the parking lot and the principal either following them at the curb or standing in the middle of the road yelling at parents be hurried. He and the school board shall examine this problem closely and figure ways to resolve this ongoing problem.

My child is at Oak Mesa and LOVES everything about this school. Teachers, office staff, nurse, librarian, custodian, lunch helpers, and MOST of all the Principal. My older kids LOVED their time there too! They were well prepared for middle school. I am so grateful to be part of this awesome community. If thinking about sending your child there, I encourage you to actually meet the principal and visit the campus. (Footnote: THIS PARENT IS VERY HAPPY WITH THIS SCHOOL RIGHT NOW... so I guess I can't believe the stated comment below that parents are not happy... )

VERY BAD!!!!!!!... This is me 3rd child at Oak Mesa. And I will say that Oak Mesa has gone downhill fast with the new male principal! The original principal was amazing with record test scores, but retired a couple years ago... that's how fast this school has crumbles. These 5 star reviews must be the principal posing as parents with fake accounts! Believe me, parents are not happy at this school right now!

My daughter had the privilege to attend this school for the past two years. Oak Mesa is a fantastic school. I can't even begin to explain how wonderful the teachers are. They have a gift for teaching. They are caring, inspiring and make learning so much fun. My daughter has had the opportunity to participate in chorus for the two years she has attending Oak Mesa. The chorus teachers have all been very talented and produce wonderful concerts. My only regret, I wish my daughter could have attended this school during all her elementary years.

At Oak Mesa not just the teachers but over all staff is very helpful. I really appreciate and salute all the members of the school.

I personally love this school!! I have yet to meet one teacher that I do not like or respect. They are all hardworking men and women! I find it in poor taste to call a teacher out by name and "trash" talk them. The teacher being targeted in a comment on this page is a wonderful person and very knowledgeable. My child was in her room and I had no problems. Perhaps it's not the teacher that was a problem? Something to think about. I notice that people are so willing to blame the teachers and staff when in fact they may be the issue themselves. For that special person...Good Luck in your new school next year.
