The last of my three children graduated last spring and I believe that any child can get a good education here if their parent(s) get involved, get to know the staff and faculty and be willing to provide their child with extracurricular learning opportunities. There are some exceptional teachers at RCHS especially in the music (band) program which is among the best in the country. The current dress code may be too restrictive but over the past few years it had become commonplace to see girls dressed like they were ready to report to work at Hooters. Some limits are necessary if parents can't or won't take care of it.

I am a sophmore at RCHS. i think that they are begining to treat us more like prisoners than students. I am an A\B student, so i do learn things here, but i do not like being treated as though i have done something wrong when i haven't. they lock the bathrooms so that we cannot go during class unless we sign out with our teacher and the office, and only during breaks if the teacher assigned at the time remembers to unlock them. also the new dress code, they are forcing it way to much. the vice principals are forced to come into class and make us stand up to so that they can check our clothes. i dont think you should be punished for not having jeans without a fray on the bottom where they were too long when you got them!

As a current parent and former student I feel confident in saying Dr. McGriff has changed this school. RCHS is an average school with average experiences and average expectations. It has the ability to be so much more. Little parent envolvement, little student voice, a lot of I don't care. No field trips this year, strick dress code going beyond a structured uniform code. Total Obamaized school. The school motto schould be "Let them think we are listening, they will never know we are not." Due to small town politics and popularity, the teachers are as average as the education. This school needs to seek out and embrace difference in order to become a better school.
