Brooks used to be an excellent school. However, now it has gone downhill since then. The principal is passive aggressive if you don't want to do sports, and will pick on your student if you don't. Almost all of the teachers have entirely too much on their hands, they're too involved in sports and less in the academic part of their jobs in actually teaching the students. This needs to be changed. The main hallway used to be inviting, when I visited for a family event, it looked abandoned and terribly underkept. High School is not about athletics, it is about preparing these students for life and that includes their academics, not just math and science and football!!

We have two teenagers; one that has just graduated and is enrolled in an engineering program at college. The other is currently in the high school. No school is perfect, however, this school provides you with the academic classes to excel if you choose them. There are excellent teachers there. There are clubs to participate in and the coaches seem to be willing to develop any promising athletic abilities. There are more Dual Credit classes available now too. If you make the right choices, you will come out prepared for college.

I am so thankful that we put our three children in Brooks High School. We couldn't be more pleased with the education our children are receiving. We have some excellent ACT scores to attest to the priorities of the Brooks High Staff. Also, our kids are in numerous sporting venues and I have been so impressed with how these Brooks families come together to support their athletes. They even have a UNA professor volunteering here with their Cross Country team. Everyone volunteers and works together. It is Awsome to see such a large school come together in so many ways like one big family. Thank you Brooks Staff and parents for making our family feel so welcomed, supported and loved! Brooks High School doesn't just educate our children. They strive to send our kids out into the World prepared to face life with a positive outlook and the skills needed to excel.
