I would like to see teachers challenge their more gifted students with curriculums that challenge them, rather than leaving them stuck with busywork that is well below their academic level just to maintain some government based program that only allows for mediocrity at all levels.

After 3/4 of a year, I must tell you Southview's new principal does not meet expectations and it permeates the school environment. Teachers do not seem empowered to make good decisions for their classrooms. Privately, several teachers have expressed fear of retaliation if they speak up to advocate for good educational causes. (I think it's because of what happened last year!) The principal fades into the background and doesn't seem to try to get to know the parents or kids. It's particularly obvious at school events.

I love Southview Elementay! We have the best teachers, principal, and all other staff than any other school. They really care about the students. They take the time to listen to the students and they involve the family as much as possible. With the excellent leadership in our school we can do nothing but improve!
