I just started my third child in school at Prarie Ridge. I am extremly satisfied with the teachers and my girls learning experiences there.

EXTRAORDINARILY BAD EXPERIENCE. I SUGGEST NOT ATTENDING THIS SCHOOL. I have three boys, the youngest is in his last year of being in this school, and it cannot finish soon enough. If you have daughters or low income, feel free. You will not have any problems, the babysitters are wonderful for you at this school. If you want your child to have an education, pick one of the other Kalamazoo elementary schools.

My son love the school. Luckily he had really good classroom teachers. Overall I like the school. No complains at all. We are an international Asian family. School treat us equally. We love the school.

There are a few good teachers at this school, ones that care. As for the Principle .... horrible don't bother trying to get a real answer or truth from her. They don't fix the problems and I bought into that my child was the one with the issues. They had me believing that he needed psychological testing or counseling! Now that he left that toxic environment I have yet to receive a bad report from the school and he whent from failing 5th grade at prairie ridge to A's and B's at middle school.Don't send your child here. If you do and they come home and say it's the teacher or staff member that is the bully that makes them hate school....believe your child!!! I have seen a lot at this school and I have very little good to say.

First day of school, lunch box was stolen. Teacher seems to have nothing. Also appied for hot lunch, if we were ever notified my child would not of even had to go through this one the first day of school. Wishing we could have gone to our choosen school, instead if the school systems choosing.

The principal (Spencer), Mrs. Schmidt, and their reading tutor were all extremely apathetic about my son's learning issues. They simply didn't care and were more comfortable with letting him fall through the cracks. By the end of his 1st grade year his confidence was completely destroyed. It took switching him into a caring school environment with a good tutor, and a year of seeing a therapist, to get him back to normal. If you have a problem like this, please assemble a team to help you and your child get to a healthy place. Get away from a toxic environment like Prairie Ridge.

My 3 children recently attended Prairie Ridge Elementary. The school has no regard for the safety of their students and were not diligent in following through on anything. The school is only as good as its leadership and I can honestly say that the principle Karen Spencer would be better off to retire. The teachers that my children had are mediocre at best and like to score children based on generalizations. Overall I would say do not send your children there because they don't have the structure or staff to handle the capacity.

I just spent my last year in this school and it was wonderful. There are so many opportunities for parents to be involved in our learning. The PTO is wonderful and holds many family activities at school. They have a ice cream social a month before school and some carnivals. When I enter that school every year I feel welcomed they have a wonderful peer mediation program for students. For the six years I went there I had a wonderful principal she was cheery and loving. I really liked all my teachers every year I did not have a teacher that I did not like. They have a computer lab that you can learn how to type fast and a awesome library that you go to weekly. By third grade my class started having reading buddies with the first and second graders. With this students where able to have one day a week where we read with a child in a lower grade. They have really good teaching strategies plans. Every Monday they send home upcoming field trips and activities and most teachers have students bring home a daily newsletter letting the parents know what their children will be learning that week. I really hope that you can consider this school. For more information go to PrairieRidgeKps Thanks
