I'm a former student of Julian Elementary School, and my educational experience at Julian Elementary couldn't have been better. Currently, I am about to graduate Julian Union High School, and my future looks incredible bright. I plan to attend my dream school in the upcoming fall semester. It was Julian Elementary that set a strong foundation I was able to build my education upon, enabling me to achieve my present goals. I never had a teacher that held me back. In fact, each teacher I had pushed me farther and farther. They taught me math that was a grade level ahead, gave me extra reading assignments to complete, and never hesitated to expand my knowledge. Most importantly, my teachers from Julian Elementary taught me the importance of personal communication. I felt connected to each of my teachers. This opened the door for communication. I was always welcome to ask questions and share experiences with my teachers, respectfully. When reflecting on my time at Julian Elementary, I only have good thoughts. It's a place of cultivation and character. Any child who attends there will be given a plethora of opportunity.

All 3 of my children started in kindergarten and finished at the Julian Junior High school. It felt like a community of caring adults supporting my children to grow academically and emotionally from beginning to end. By the time my youngest son started school he knew everyone because of his older siblings. He felt like the school belonged to him and the adults were HIS people. The superintendent and principals have always been approachable and considerate. I feel like my children were challenged appropriately and had great academic upbringing. Character Education was a bonus program to help plant the seeds of being a decent and kind person. I love this school district! I have fond memories of all 3 of my children and the staff that have connected with them along the way.

My child has suffered chronic unchecked physical aggression-aka bullying-at this school. No resolution is achieved by communicating with school personnel. Other parents have echoed similar experiences and concerns, and I don't get the sense that my child's issue is an isolated case. My opinion is that the school doesn't place enough priority on creating a safe learning environment. I sure hope that someone with leadership skills decides to step in and address the problem.

All of my children attended Julian Elem. They started in ESK and finished 6th grade. They all achieved straight A's, and they all received "advanced" on STAR testing each year. The teachers were all requested by me, based on the previous years test scores. This school follows state guidelines for academics, while complying with Title 1 curriculum as well. These teachers care, these teachers teach. I am proud to have had my children attend this school from 2002-2013. It was an incredible experience for all of them!!

The school seems very friendly, yet the education is severely behind. I am in a yours mind and ours family, one of the kids goes to Julian while the other kids go to a different school. the child in Julian is academically behind at least 2 years from the other kids in the same grade at the other school. the staff seemed a bit difficult to work with being the my household was not in their district only the other parent, whose household was in their district received all school information, in regards to events at school, special activities, and academic information regarding the child.

This school is AMAZING!! Being a Military family, my kids have attended numerous schools. This is by far the best school... The teachers, helpers, and all staff are friendly, supportive, and give the children exceptional education. They even have a garden to work in!! I can only hope my kids will get to continue at this school for the rest of my husbands military career. My kids and I absolutely LOVE this school and all the teachers!

Every single staff member, teacher, and volunteer seemed to be there for the right reasons. My daughter didn't just learn to write and read, to add and subtract, she was given a solid character education, given the freedom to take creative risks, to ask questions, to share ideas. This is THE best school that I have ever been a part of, as an adult or a child. If you get the chance to have your child in Mrs Younce's classroom DO IT. It will change your child, the experience.

This school may have nice teachers and staff but the quality of education is very poor. After moving my son districts we realized how far behind he was academically from going to Julian, and now we are playing major catch up! It's great to have nice people around our kids, but they are supposed to be going to school to get a quality education and this is not what this school is doing with our children.
