An extremely toxic work environment that is hostile and unhealthy.My experience at A Step Up Academy has been overwhelmingly negative due to the toxic culture fostered by upper management. Employees are consistently demeaned, undervalued, and subjected to an oppressive work environment where fear and intimidation take precedence over support and collaboration.Management operates in a tyrannical manner, prioritizing control and dominance over employee well-being. Constructive feedback is nonexistent, and instead, criticism is delivered in a condescending and demeaning tone. Hard work and dedication go unrecognized, leading to low morale and high turnover. The lack of appreciation for employees creates an environment where motivation is stifled, and professional growth is nearly impossible.Communication is poor, and decisions are made without considering the impact on employees. There is no room for open dialogue or expressing concerns without fear of retaliation. Rather than fostering teamwork and mutual respect, management cultivates a culture of micromanagement and unrealistic expectations, often at the expense of employees' mental and emotional well-being.I sincerely hope that leadership acknowledges these ongoing concerns and takes meaningful steps toward creating a healthier and more constructive work environment—one that values and supports its employees rather than undermining them. A workplace should empower individuals to succeed, and positive change is crucial for the long-term success of both the organization and its workforce.

One of the worst places I have ever worked at. Management is very unprofessional, retaliative, and they do not care about you or your safety, which is constantly at risk because of aggressive kids who go here. I noticed a lot of belittling and micromanaging when I had the displeasure of working here. Bottom line- safe yourself the strain on your mental health from working here.

If parents only knew what the signed up for...Most people think they are sending their child to a school...where they will learn.. yes they do learn...more negative behaviors..this school is now a behavioral institution.. they cut the kids off from even use of the playground, when senior staff is mad...it's no structure..kids are allowed to do whatever but school work..severely under staffed!! They don't allow staff to speak with parents, so parents don't know what is being done...if you a parent ..please don't wait until IEP to know...and Jamie J is NOT your friend..her goal is to fill classrooms to pay senior staff salary..
