former student, who didn't get treated right by the administration. They almost didn't let me go to graduation.

I would never, in my life send my child to this "school" again. If you or your child wants to be treated with respect or get a decent education, this is not the place.

I decided to update this review now that I'm a sophomore. I will start with the bad things and then the good stuff. The PROBLEMS: Some of the kids here can be RIDICULOUS. Last year there was a student (who left) who would pick on freshman. Other kids tried to film me when they thought i was gonna cry. There aren't THAT many bad kids though. It is believed that fights are very common, but I only saw a few last year. I believe there are bad kids anywhere. Also, there are a couple teachers who hardly anybody likes. The PROS: I have made at least 30 friends and acquaintances, and I enjoy hanging out with all of them. Many students that you may expect to be bad can be nice and actually care about you. For example, I hardly get teased, but when I do and cry about it, other students are actually concerned about me, even ones who I'd predict tease me. I have made a specific friend who I like to talk to on the phone, and that I have invited to my house. Another student saw my wallet and then told an office staff member what they found, who gave it to me. He then announced it on the intercom. He keeped it anonymous, and I KNEW what he was talking about. Riverdale used to be a C school, then a B school, and last year, it's an A school. To sum it all up, for all the people who call this school RiverJAIL, it's not as bad as prison. It's a good school.

a great school this is my childs' first year a freshman. He signed on the football team and was accepted playing first string. The coaches are great they are helpful in every way. The coaches seem to care about their academic achievements as well as the sports. They have also taken an interest in his feeling as a human being always there to encourage. I give RIVERDALE A FIVE IN THE RATING SYSTEM. At this time I have not met any teachers therefore I can not comment in this area.

This is definitely the best public high school of the big four on the East Bank. Riverdale is smaller than Grace King, Bonnabel, and East Jefferson, which also benefits the students as they get a more personal education. My son really enjoys attending school here and is involved in many sports and will be entering the IB program. The teachers and administration seem to really care about the students and it shows. If you want the best education for your son/daughter without having to pay a fortune for private school, check out Riverdale High School. You won't be disappointed!
