I don't know what all the other schools are like but Summit is horrible! No textbooks--the teacher has to make copies. The library doesn't even have any books?? Roaches are everywhere including the cafeteria. My child's teacher is great--calls me in the evenings to see if I have any concerns. She is a new teacher and I am sure she will get a job elsewhere next year--they can't keep good teachers there. My child told me that one of the administrators actually went into the classroom and reprimanded the teacher for something in front of the class!!! Stay away from this mess!!!!

I love this school because this school love their scholars.

This has been the absolute worst year for my child, he went from straight A student to B,C, F student. there is no encouragement. They claim students are to report when they are being hit, bullied but then the teacher says she doesn't want to listen to tattling, when my child was punched and decided to defend himself, he gets suspended. My child has no self esteem anymore, reaching out to the Powers that be does not help it is just excuse after excuse. Next year will be better because he will not be there. I am not blaming the Principals in charge when their hands are tied, but when parents are told we are working on the rules to be better for elementary they should take in account those on IEP's and 504's.

They are quick to kick a student out! My daughter got suspended for going to use the restroom! After a few accidents there already (I said no more, go to the restroom) was she supposed to go on herself again and go thru the ridicule of others? No one in there right mind would keep letting that happen! A school that's quick to kick a student out for that and during testing times doesn't really care for your childs well being! My child has been there since they opened their doors and they have falling since then!

It's only the second week and I'm seriously considering removing my child! My child's teacher has quit in the first week and it has been a substitute in the class. I have yet to receive ANY notice about my child's teacher no longer working there and the fact that there is a substitute filling in. I found out his teacher quit from another parent and when we asked the assistant principal all she said was they are working on it. I feel like as a parent we should get some type of notice that our child does not have a permanent teacher at the moment. I feel like my child will be behind the other kindergarten students because of the teacher situation. The breakfast room is a chaotic mess students kicking and hitting each other and cutting in line. I tried to let my child walk through the line alone once and my child was pushed around by an older student I had to run over and intervene because no one was in there keeping them in any type of order. The pick up process is an inconsistent mess and the security that should be directing traffic is a prime example of lazy. I was promised a different experience than the one I'm currently experiencing. TSA is not up to the standard it was the previous year. I'm not sure if they are short staffed but I will not be sending my child to this school any longer.

Tindley Summit is unique. I have never seen a school like Tindley. They work together as one. They are nice and supportive of each other AND the students. We took our daughter out of a school that we thought would be the best for her. After having many issues we found Tindley. They have known her name as well as ours from the 1st day. Not just her teacher but both co-principals. And they know her brother that will be joining them this next fall. And they are very much about communication. I talk to the teacher and principals everyday. They will give you good and bad reports. They will tell you what they excelled at and what they need to work on. At Tindley they are all about the child and their education.

Tindley Summit Academy has a terrific culture where the scholars love to learn, and the teachers do whatever it takes to help their students learn and grow. Collaboration between the Co-Principals and the teachers keep everyone working together and this teamwork shows in the progress that the scholars make.

Tindley is a school where scholars are given the best education possible. The expectations are high not just for the scholars but for the teachers as well. Every scholar is held accountable for their grades and education but the results are a desire for lifelong learning. Our scholars are given the tools needed for success in college and beyond. The curriculum is intense and the results are infinite.

Tindley Summit is a wonderful school! We have extremely invested stakeholders who work collaboratively to ensure our scholars receive the best education possible. Our teachers and administrators are extremely hard-working and dedicated. We also have very supportive and helpful families who are willing to lend a hand with various school activities and events. It truly "takes a village" to raise a child and Summit is proof of that saying. Summit has a very positive culture that is infectious from the moment you enter the building. Tindley Summit....we run it!
