St Jude has good people there for sure. If traditional schools setting is where your child thrives, there is not a lot of better choices. Great on structure and setting. If however your child is not a traditional learner or structured, you may have issues. Where it lacks is the leadership. There is no feedback offered to help improve the school or leadership. Same goes for teachers, they often are not evaluated for effectiveness. Science is also weak at lower grade levels. The children do bond and stay pretty close, which is nice. But it is noticed that new students at times have trouble adjusting or feeling welcome. If your looking for smaller class size, this is also not your place as some grade levels go 30 plus in class size.

Very good school. St. Jude is on the cusp of greatness. But not there yet. The good. Excellent parent participation at all levels. Excellent parents, excellent schools. Math and English departments are strong. Special education is outstanding (huge improvement over the last 2-3 years). Service oriented school with required student service hours. The bad. Primarily, there is exclusion of students on the part of certain teachers and certain staff. A gross over emphasis on athletics. Lack of emphasis on the fine arts and technology. No teacher performance surveys.

St. Jude is a school with a passionate principal, veteran teaching staff, and great community of supportive adults. My children have thrived at St. Jude academically, socially, ans spiritually.
