So far the kindergarten teachers are awesome and for the most part my young child seems to enjoy school. The only issues I have so far is that the lady at the front desk is very rude. I was pretty upset to hear the way she spoke to children that were "tardy". She told one child to tell his mother not to stop at the gas station before dropping him off to school. Also there seems to be a problem with students stealing from other students. My five year old has had a lot stolen from her backpack we notified her teachers but it stiil seems to be a problem.

As a volunteer at the school, I know the staff very well and they really work to improve the students' education. Every time I have spoken with the secretary or treasurer, they have been very kind. Both the principal and assistant principal are great too. There is a huge lack of parental interest within the school. The parents of students all believe that their children are perfect - however, there is a HUGE issue when it comes to the behavior of the students. Parents often try to blame the teachers, when really it is a lack of care and discipline at home. It makes me sad when I see the parents yelling at teachers, when really, the teachers are just trying to do their job. If the parents would take an active interest in their children's education, there might not be so many issues. In general, the school is good and are trying to do their best given the circumstances.

This school id in a great school district with a proud tradition however this school does not stand up to the townships standards or reputation. The new car ridier is system is an absoloute abomination. I dont think this adminstistion is up to the quality of the township. Most imprtantly the front office secratery is judgemental and if you are not one of the "in parents" good luck getting anything done let alone a respetful response. I have had the oppurtunity to meet great teachers. 'the staff aregreat and are working had to work with the subpar administration they have to deal with. I hope for the future this scholl can get better leadership. Best regards concerned parent

The principal there is amazing, however... The first week of school as I was walking my child to class, I heard two teachers having a (very loud) conversation in the hall. The teacher told the other "I told him to stop queationing me and to do the assignment on the board. She had to have been a 3rd grade teacher at the most. Really, is this the way we treat the students? By telling them to stop asking questions? That's one of the ways children learn is by asking questions. I truly feel sorry for the other parents of "car riders". There is very little organization. They sent a flyer home specifically stating to "please, stay in your car. A staff member will assist your child and it helps move things along" In the three weeks school has been in session this has happened three times at most. They let out about 8 children from the front door with zero supervision including a special needs child who could have been hit by a bus. If it wasn't for the gentleman in charge of calling the children out, tragedy could have happened. All the while the teachers assigned to assist the childrenfrom the school door to the cars stood on the side of the building. NEGLIGENCE at its finest.

My youngest child attends Clinton Young Elementary School. In comparison to where my older children attended school, Clinton Young is 100 times better. Within the Metropolitan School District of Perry Township, we have school choice. Around the start of February, parents can fill out school choice applications. In this school district, I get to chose where my child attends school. I chose Clinton Young Elementary School because it meets the standards of what I look for in a school. At Clinton Young, the teacher to student ratio is the best that I have found. At Clinton Young, the teacher to student ratio has been 1 teacher for 24 students. In past school years at Clinton Young, the teacher to student ratio has been 1 teacher for 17 students for my youngest child's grade.

This school is not a very good school... We have only been at this school for 6 months and my son will not return next school year.... There is so much bullying going on in this school and the administration does absolutely NOTHING... My son has been physically mistreated and this school did nothing to protect him... Every complaint I made they never check into it... If you have a choice DO NOT send your child here...
