If I could give the school zero stars I would. There are certainly some good staff members but over all this school is awful. We have watched this school go down hill for years. Kids who report bullying on the playground are told to mind their own business. When victims of bullying seek help they are told it is their fault. We have witnessed several situations where children were allowed to physically and emotionally abuse others with little to no consequences. Children who struggle academically are given the minimum help possible. Everyone is taught to the lowest level possible. The adults (parents and staff) are extremely clique oriented and more interested in furthering their own social status than actually creating a positive and effective educational environment. Overall the education provided by this school is a joke.

I have had experience with multiple schools in the area and have found such a positive environment at Edgemont Elementary. The building, teachers, PTO, and support staff work hard to keep a family atmosphere that addresses the needs of students academically as well as basic needs. This school cares about its families and students. We love being Eagles!

I have been so pleased with Edgemont. We have been at this school for 2 years now. I love the amount of parental envolement. I love that the teachers and staff love to see parents helping at the school and are always so grateful too. The PTO is actively involved from book fairs, an amazing FAME program, purchasing playground equipment, computers, reading programs, supplying snacks before testing, student service corp, fundraising, to just doing whatever they can to make an already great school even better. I love the school's moto "All For One And One For All" the school's mascot is an eagle and they use. The word EAGLE as an acranim to teach children, how to be Empathetic towards others, Academically accountable, Goal oriented, to be a Leader, and Embrass the challenges of tomorrow. They work it into the everyday curriculum for each child, by having the kids create goals, play out senarios of how to be empathetic towards others, be responsible for their own work and actions, they have reward systems in place to encourage proper behavior....I truly believe that they have the best intentions for every child there and want to see each one of them succeed.

My son and I both love this school. The staff is amazing and we love the new building.

This is one of the best schools around. The principle has worked for years to be sure that the kids had the latest in technology available to them. The PTO does well at fundraising and providing for the students. The biggest drawback to the school was how it was aging and now they are building a entirely new school 2012-2013!
