We were enamored by the principal. He is a great recruiter. However when he's needed he's not around, unavailable, busy with other important things that bring up ratings for the school. My son has literally been bullied since day one on the bus. 3 students to a seat...that's unexceptable and unsafe, and then there's the bullies on the bus. These specific ones didn't even belong on this bus. My son tried to point them out in a book and they weren't even in it. If they can't control one bus, how can they control an entire School? That's the biggest joke yet. My son is now driven by another student. Sometimes they get there before the buses and still will be marked tardy and get detention for walking in the classroom 30 seconds past the clock instead of 30 minutes by bus. That's their policy. He feels like the teachers and staff are picking on him because he reported the bullies on the first day. The dress code doesn't get addressed unless you're wearing something stating your beliefs. Meaning you can waltz in wearing a swimsuit but you can't wear one promoting a constitutional right, promoting a politician, and if you have a shirt with a cookie on it you're a drug dealer. A school is meant for learning. This school teaches, you don't matter (unless you're an athlete), rules aren't really rules for everyone, just the ones trying to learn and avoid bullies, if you have an IEP teachers don't have to follow it unless you tell them in front of the class that you need something (making you a target to be made fun of). he's not allowed to talk to the principal he's too busy the school said. He can only talk to a Dean that has as much power as a trash can. Literally you can tell the Dean everything that happened and he can do nothing about it. A kid in gym tells my son how he wants to rape his mother. What's the point in reporting it he says, they aren't gonna do anything about it! You can't trust staff...Buses aren't safe... Mentally the school is not safe... I'm having a hard time finding a good reason to keep him in this school. I believe, if this happy upbeat principal, that is so good at recruiting and putting on a show, put just a portion of his energy into tending to the kids he currently has problems with, the school COULD end up being the school to uproot your family for, and move from 50 miles away to ensure your kid gets the best education they can. Right now I wish I lived 50 miles away from it. 3 more years of this....isn't happening.

HHS is truly the best and its goal is "All Student Always" is carried to the core. With opportunities to make sure that each student has their OWN learning experience. Between AP, PLTW, Online, Dual Degree, and Blended offerings there is so much that ALL students can take part in. With over 50 clubs and 28 sports teams, there is something for everyone. They even have 4 different academies, Medical, Engineering, Global, and Fine Arts, students can explore different careers and figure out what's right for THEM and can save lots of money so that they can decide in high school, not college. If you don't want to college that is alright as well, between Geo Con, Woods, and Auto classes students can be exposed to a wide variety of different opportunities. The Admin there is truly the best, always looking to improve the school and have an open-door policy. If you are a student, parent, or community member and wish to talk with the Admin they are always willing to talk with you. There is also a STRONG sense of community at the school where "You Matter" and that we are one school translates to a great school culture! On the Special Services side of things, students have amazing special ed teachers and supports in place to make sure all students succeed. They do all of this while being environmentally friendly having solar panels, electric buses, and large building operation efficiencies, and having the lowest per pupil spending in its area, so your tax dollars will be spent to the maximum potential. The sports teams are amazing here winning many conference titles, Huntley is also the IHSA State Girls Softball Champions in 2019, and Girls Track State Champions. On the academic extracurricular side of things, IHSA 2021 and 2022 Journalism State Champions. With all this work Huntley High School is one of the best in the nation, being ranked number one in 2019 by study.com for its Blended Learning Program. Huntley 158 is also the Department of Education's 2023 Green Ribbon winner and is an AASA Learning 2025 school district, among other awards. So if you want your child to get its education at a nationally recognized school that is changing the face of education then go to Huntley High School.

bullying is horrible at the school, Teachers do not have the recourses they need to stop it. Some student athletes are reprimanded by the school differently just because they are athletes. Bullying is the main concern here and nothing ever gets addressed and just get pushed to the side. Way to go Huntley for covering everything up. You guys are awesome at that.

Sexual assault, bullying, and racial bias are rampant and under addressed. Hiding issues rather than addressing them is preferable to district leadership. School leadership can only do so much with the limits they are forced to work within.

I am a parent of a student that struggles and hates school. However, I have also been very involved with the school and see that it has some amazing programs. My sophomore is doing better now and during all the struggles last year and some of this year anyone that I have reached out to has been so extremely helpful. I look forward to my next child attending. It will be a decade before he does but I know HHS will be even better then as the leadership is second to none.

I was a 2009 graduate of HHS. As a teacher in a Colorado district now, I can see Huntley was an amazing school. It taught students responsibility for their actions in this age when so many students struggle to believe anything is their fault. As an honors and AP student, there were so many opportunities for college credit. I had several friends who had enough credits to graduate and start college early, and they already had a few semesters worth of credits finished. If you plan on going to college and living in the real world, this school is amazing.

I graduated in 2013, since day one of going to Huntley it was the WORST high school experience. The teachers are horrible, the reception, administration is horrible, the resource office is a joke. There is nothing good to say about this school. They give detentions out like thirsty. Their "punshisments" were a joke. They don't like to do their job. The only thing the school has going for them is the renovations other then that. This is the WORST school ever

Absolutely top notch school. The staff is attentive, and assists in creating solutions. They are proactive as opposed to being reactive like other schools in the area of High Schools. I find that the teachers are very responsive to emails, and they communicate in ways I've not been acustom to in the past with other schools. So thankful that I found my way into this district for my kids.

The focus of this school is on one type of student. The administration wishes to increase their ratings at the expense of the majority. It is run with a bully mentality. Screaming and swearing is common place among the staff, and there is a double standard in regards to respect. The students are little more than numbers who should conform without opinion or needs.

This school is all about politics and the football program! Many Parents and students are rude. If you're not in the popular group at this school or a athlete good luck fitting in!!!!!

I've been going to this school for only a couple months, and so far I love it, almost all my teachers are amazing and actually care about us, plus there are tons of different academic and extracurricular options for us to do. And our counsellors are really helpful I'm supporting us and preparing us for later years. I already know what classes I will be taking and what I want to do in my future!!! Love the school

Don't get me wrong, Huntley used to be a great school. I have been attended three years and just began my fourth. Being around the area my whole life and having siblings that went here prior, I have seen or heard of many of the changes that happened. The way the school is running now is chaotic. Many of the recent implemented policies are unnecessary or not clearly defined. In midst of all the changes and construction that has been going on for some months, many of the teachers and other staff members seem to be lost as well. Something good about Huntley is the blended program, which allows students to meet in the classroom only a few days a week, well doing the other work on their own time. This and other ideas have great potential; it would just be great to see them being run adequately.

We'll I went to Huntley high three years ago. It w as easy to find myself In trouble with the wrong crowd. Looking back on it the school was fantastic in contrast compared to the school I go to.. auctually I encourage to look it up it's called alcovy high located in best place for a poor standerd school like this one here in Georgia. It is so far behind with education it's not funny I really recommend this school I give it 5 stars. Really wished I did different because now I'm realizing how much I have missed for a high school experience. Half the teachers at my new school are hardly qualified teachers out off all my teachers I got two teachers that have been teaching for over a year. I literally can't learn a thing when I want to because the teachers can't control the classrooms or teach. 2000 + students and literally only 20% of the students pass every subject except history bits that's because they spend a whole sestet on slavery and constantly add it into the criteria. They need some serious refoatiom if you got the chance to go to Huntley take it right now

Don't get me wrong, I love HHS, but we do have some problems. Our teachers are typically pretty good, but when you do get a bad teacher here it's hard to get any help with the situation. There are some really terrible teachers, but also a lot of fantastic ones. However, there is a bullying problem here--mostly catty girls and idiotic jerks--but there are also lots of friendly and accepting people here. We do have a lot of the kind of people who seem to think they're gangsters or something and talk about drinking and taking drugs all the time. One thing I love about Huntley is the amount of extracurricular activities. There is something for everyone. One thing that does bother me is the focus on certain sports over other activities. When our basketball team went to state, they got a huge send off from the school, while I'm pretty sure no one knows that the marching band went to state two years back. I also think the football team gets much more hype than anything at the school, and a lot of the players I've talked to tend to get a big head about it. Overall, our school is pretty awesome. We've got a lot of school spirit and it's always interesting here.

I am a proud parent of a huntley freshman. H-U-N-T-L-E-Y is the best school around with great fans and a great football program was 2-7 and now made the state playoffs this year. The Freshman team was also great at 7-2 Record and the B team at 5-4. Sophmore finshed at 4-5 and the JV Sturggled at 3-6. Huntley is going to be power house soon. Huntley Teachers show pride staying late after school just to help kids. Everyone gets to retake any test so no one fails. There is not any bullying at huntley at all. The only reason kids get detentions is there doing something wrong like kissing or having more then 1 tardy. The new online tardy scanner helps teachers make sure every student is marked tardy. Huntley teachers are well trained and very nice and helpful. Teachers are funny and sometimes swear for fun. It is great school the whole school teams up agianst bullying. Link Crew which is seniors and other upper class girls and boys help out freshman with tips. Freshman are spearated for all grade leavels and it is like a whole different school. Teachers help students making study gudies but not giving a lot of homework. Huntley will get anyone ready for college and helps everyone.

huntley high school is a terrible school. there is constant bullying, the teachers have no idea what there doing, and you get punished for everything. this is a prison. we get detentions all the time, and everything is our faults.
