My daughter had a great time in this school from kindergarten to 3rd grade. All the teachers She had was awesome, especially my daughter's best teacher Mrs. Alabi. After school, teachers are awesome too. The principal Ms.Johnson is very good, she cares for her kids and is always there every morning to welcome them to school. We moved and will have to change schools.Thank You AA Milne for an awesome time.

Excellent school and workers. Too bad that the State of Texas cares only about test scores that some of the students can not overcome.

This school is terrible! The administration is incompetent and the principle is the most evasion person I have met. You think you need an appointment for someone of major importance like Obama? Well that's who she thinks she is! If you care about your child's self esteem and confidence, do not put them in this school. The good teachers that they do have left are running for the hills. It's very sad and disappointing to see the children suffer because the principle does not know what she is doing. It's all a show, you will never have your concerns addressed. If your child isn't getting harassed for their snack or lunch by the other kids they will be getting notes sent home or reprimanded for fighting for their food or protecting themselves. There is no structure or motivation for the children to excel which is why the schools test scores are what they are. Please beware, these are the precious years that help mold your child, and this school will only aid in creating issues and not partnering with parents to mold success.

My daughter was constantly bullied at this school. The cafeteria staff once told me that the children are constantly stealing my child's lunch and the administration did nothing about it. The final straw was when my child was severely injured and the school failed to send her to get medical attention and they also failed to notify me. Avoid this school at all costs it's as if you are sending your child to a juvenile prison and they have to fin for themselves.

There discipline strategy is to kick an eight year old out of school for every wrongdoing for two days at a time. My son missed school and I have to miss work when he gets suspended. My son has medical issues and is medicated and the only solution the principal can come up with is expulsion. I am going to file a complaint with the school board. They are creating dropouts, not disciplining.

This school is awesome! The teachers and staff care about their students. They are always willing to go the extra mile for their students. At Milne they are not only concerned with academics, but they are concerned with the social value of their students. The administrative staff has always been helpful in the success of their teachers and students. Well pleased with all their work!

All the reviews giving this school 5 stars are obviously staff or teachers form Milne. This is the most ghetto school I have ever had the displeasure of walking into. I wrote a review for this site and all of a sudden three week later it is not showing on the site, even though it was every bit of the truth. Don't get me wrong I'm a very upset mother of a first grader that attends this horrible excuse for a school. Staff are angry and childish, and if they have an issue that they won't bring to your attention, they will take it out on your child. My daughter's homeroom teacher told her this week not to ask to go to the nurse because she never gets sick until she gets to her classroom. Completely unprofession and no regard is held for the children here. This school may as well start a PRISON 101 course for the the children since they don't care anyway.

The teachers are awesome, my children started when they were in 1st and 2nd grade, but the Administration dept is getting worse and worse by the year! Mr. Crooks was an awesome principal and as parents, we really miss him. There were so many activities for the children, including an afterschool program that vanished when the new principal came on the scene. Very unorganized and poor communication. They wait until the last minute for everything. 5th grade had no yearbooks or any other form of memorabillia for them to be reminded of their final year in elementary school!

Horrible and dispicable. These "adults" ought to be ashamed and less selfish. Unorganized and careless. They just care about a paycheck and complain about how little it is. Their a facade.

I can honestly say that I am very happy with this school, my kids had a great year, my little girl was in Ms. Castro class and I can tell you she is the best teacher, GREAT teacher is they had teacher of the year it would be here. The other teachers were great Ms. Wright was a great teacher, and Ms.Thomas. But thumbs up for Ms.Castro...

This school used to be much better when the old principal, Mr. Crooks was there. Under his leadership, this school had an exemplary rating, but it nowhere near exemplary now. He was strict & held the teachers, students, & parents accountable. Now, the new principal is laissez-faire in her leadership style. She is friends with many of her staff members, so she never gives them directives or works to resolve parent complaints. Attendance and on-time arrival has dropped, there is no longer an afterschool care program, and the school is now over-crowded because it merged with another elementary school. A lot of excellent teachers and staff members retired. The nurse is lazy and just sends all of the kids home or says "there's nothing i can do about that!" Last year, a kid had a seizure in the cafeteria and several minutes passed by before he received help. Some of the teachers try, but they are overworked. High performers and very low students are lumped together in the same classes - there is no GT program or counselor. I used to brag on this school as being an excellent neighborhood school, not anymore. Oh - the PTA is practically nonexistent. I am moving my son to a private school.

This is my child's first year at Milne, and she loves it. She is in kindergarten and has exceeded exceptionally well along with the help of her preschool education. The school is very informative to the parents and her teacher is compassionate when it comes to her students. Right now this is the place for her. I can't wait to see what the future holds.
