My child was injured by a teacher at Jefferson Early Learning Center. he is able to clearly explain how he was pinched on his shoulder and at his throat. he is 4yo!!! The principal has refused several requests for a sit down, and the assistant principal promised follow up that just never came. we have no choice but to trust our babies will be safe at school. The lack of accountability or concern for what happened to my son should be concerning to any parent considering this place.

I mentioned the incident of the intimidation of the principal to a district employee, and she made notes of it, but I doubt there will be an investigation. Low performing school always have low performing principals. Positive light? There are, like I mentioned, good teachers that I have personally met that have a heart of gold. There are afterschool programs for homework help as well as several activities like the Houston Symphony violin program free to students. There was even an opportunity for catechism classes for kids that want to complete their first communion. The school has some new temporary buildings and the safety looks subpar but overall, I felt students were safe there. The counseling and special ed team is committed to the students and I believe there is some fighting chance in this school with the right involved parent. In conclusion, I am moving my child to another district.
