The cafeteria will refuse your child lunch and do not allow them to eat if there's a -10.00$ balance on their account. The school said they are now like"a restaurant"; however, Apple Pay is not an option for your child to pay for their lunch in the event, you as a working parent with a career, forgets to pay on school bucks website. please do not allow your child to have a $-10.00 balance on lunch account or they will go all day without eating and no call to let you know "your child did not eat today."

ive reviewed this before, but i have to add onto it. good luck using wifi at home to do homework because all wifi is locked so you can only connect to school wifi. also don't listen to the 'above average' test scores because that's a lie to boost popularity. the '10/10 equity' is wrong. also if you love racism, this is the place for you. you will be called every single racial slur in 0.005 seconds. good luck for you who want to come here. if you're suicidal, you've come to the right place.

Can’t wait for my kid to get out of this school. Being new to this area this school has been nothing but problems from day 1! My kid is very friendly and nice has struggled all year to make a single friend. Had a huge friend group at pervious school and now nothing . Oversized classrooms! Bullying is a everyday event! Fights ever day event. They say they don’t allow this but it goes on. Teachers I believe are just overwhelmed which makes it impossible for them to teach the correct way which then reflects on students. My kid went from previously knowing what he was doing in school to nothing but a struggle, the Alabama public school system is a joke compared to other states. They do not have a no child left behind policy or a zero tolerance policy. The amount of work kids come home with is unreal.

Imy Son had to move to Bumpus due to us moving my older son went to Simmons and it was great! I feel like I have failed my other son by enrolling him in Bumpus! He was in IEP at Simmons and Bumpus is aware that he needs extra help and we have spoke with the counselor the first week of school and they said yes they will get him in the appropriate class. Well over halfway through the first 9 weeks they have yet to make any changes and he is failing. I wish my son could go back to Simmons! Like one other review if you can get your child in Simmons it is amazing!

Let me just say this if you are moving to the wonderful state of Alabama don't bring your children to this school. The teachers are not very good although we do have a few good ones. But not as many as we should. My child has never had a problem making friends. This school has been very hard for him and its been over a year. The school does absolutely NOTHING to help them other then give them a peer buddy to show them around the first day which was great to find your way but that was about it. I have talked to at least 5 other newcomers to Hoover and they have all said the same thing about their children. Oh and if you ever go to the school the front office staff is horrible and rude!!! They all need to give up there jobs and go find something else because they are miserable. I have been told by several parents that the grades before Bumpus are great and Hoover High is good and we just have to make it thru Bumpus....I think this is unacceptable and they need to step up to the rest of the schools in lots of ways!

The students at this school treat new students horribly! I've never in my life heard children say the things they have said to each other. It really makes you wonder how these kids are being raised by their parents or lack of parenting. The staff is lazy and rude. Teachers are also lazy and rude. The principal? What principal? Not involved.

My daughter changed to Bumpus due to moving. I really hate this school, they are lazy and act incompetent. I truly wish she could go back to Simmons where there was more structure and organization. Its just god awful. Examples kids can't call home if they forget something, if you bring something for your child they won't tell them. Says its their responsibility well if they couldn't call home, and you remembered whatever they left how the heck do they know its there? I've requested more individualized help for daughter and she hasn't received it. I feel bad for my daughter that she even has to go here. Parents spare your children and move wherever Simmons is zoned.
