This school is not preparing students for college or gainful employment after graduation. The teachers spend too much time pumping up students egos and relying on youtube for actual lesson teaching. Requests to contact teachers or administrators are returned in weeks, months or not at all. The school's main focus unfortunately is sports and extracurricular activities. Math, Sciences, and other core academic subjects take a back seat.

This school is wonderful. I've been attending Homer High for three years now and haven't dealt with any major problems such as bullying. The teachers are really nice and wan't to help students. New people are always welcome. However, extra help for students who are slower than others are hard to come by because of a teacher's busy schedule, so some teachers do tend to leave some jobs to parents.

I just started teaching at Homer High School a few weeks ago. Everyone, from teachers, administration, custodians, staff, and even students have been friendly and helpful. This school excels and each person, student and staff are expected to put forth their best. Teachers are part of the team that includes everyone to help students succeed and go on to greater challenges. It is the teamwork and help that has impressed me, as a new teacher here. Having taught in different three other districts in the state, this is one shows the most concern toward new peers in the district and in the individual school. This school is known for its friendliness and cooperation with its own staff and the community. Their community involvement is outstanding and I am looking forward to having a meaningful and long lasting relationship with everyone associated with the school.

Homer does a great job of isolating parents. This school has not met reasonable expectations. My son struggles in school and he has not received the help from this school he deserves. He fails tests but the teachers won't get him extra help because he does well on homework assignments. He does well on homework assignments because we spend hours going over it every night. The school should recognize a struggling student and help them. Homer has not done so. Teachers don't return my phone calls or respond to emails. My son asks for help and they are often unwilling to stay late to help him. The principals have been quite helpful, but a few people do not make a school. This school has been a bad experience.
