Would rate 0 stars if I could.I was a student at this school for three years. These three years had to be the worst three years of my life. No matter how many times I went to report the substantial bullying that was happening, the administration did not care at all. The administration made no attempts to even right the wrongs that the other kids were doing on to me. The school was better when Mr. DeVincent was principal. The school has a no self defense rule so if your child gets attacked, they your child to get assaulted. This is because their argument is if you try to defend your self you fought back and injured the other kid. They say that if you do not fight back then if you are injured to no end, the other kid gets in trouble, but if you fight back you can expect your kid to get a bare minimum of 7 days of Out-Of-School Suspension.

I am a student here and i can say with experience its horrible. Just two days ago (I'm in Cambridge) a kid had thrown scissor blades at some other kid but almost hit one of my friends. There was also news that many kids here deal and do drugs on a daily basis, they are fiends with the pens too. About every week there are two fights or more, there even was a day that there were more than 7 fights. Although there are only two special needs kids in my opinion they do disrupt the class and get into trouble a decent amount. The fact I had went on this website just to tell parents how bad this school is, IS concerning. Please just got to like gulf middle or some other school than this school. PLSSSS. Some kids were also caught touching themselves before, and that's about it.

I am an 8th grader currently at Paul R Smith and this has been a horrible experience. My AirPods and phone have been stolen and none of the responsible kids get held accountable. The teachers here are disrespectful and rude. Teachers claim they care about student and bullying even though I see bullying happen everyday. The dress code is ridiculous and mainly aimed towards the girls. They do not have enough food for all grades. There was one time I was sitting in line for 15 minutes waiting for food because I was the last table called and they didn’t have enough food for the rest of us and I only had 5 minutes to eat the nasty food they gave me in replace. Last year I was forced to do 3 to a seat on the bus with high schoolers and there was even kids sitting on each others laps because of how crowded it was. And guess what the driver didn’t even turn on the air conditioning. The teachers barely teach anything and sometimes even make the students teach other students for them. horrible school. Horrible experience.

I can not wait for my family members to be done at this school. There are after caring teachers and staff members but very few that actually care . Their punishment on bullying seems to always fall on about 90% on the wrong kids and the true bullies are either not punished or they know where to pick on the kids with no cameras or school staff available . This school is a joke on punishment of bullying .Kids get picked on constantly to where they fight back and get in trouble or they are to scared to say anything because it makes it worse on them knowing they will get bullied more Like most parents and grandparents we are sick of this bullying and honestly I know it’s not easy to control. But this school is the worse in the county or maybe in the region for their bullying. I want to shame on this school for doing absolutely nothing to prevent this …

Im an 8th grader at Paul R Smith. This school is not safe, many kids have gotten hurt, sent to the hospital, and too juvie. Kids do terrible things in the bathroom, the rumors that get spread around the school about kids are so bas, and photos/videos get posted everywhere, a kid in 6th grade cut herself and then a kid that was in 7th grade also cut herself and posted it. The teachers DONT care whatsoever. think about it before you put your kid in here.

I’m a 8th grade Cambridge student and the school kinda sucks in terms of students and some teachers but the Cambridge program really is a highlight. Too many fights.

This school is terrible. I got like 8 referalls for defending myself against bullies and the school just ignored it. Like come on now. The schools principal allows it's teachers to yell and scream at the students for no reason and send the student to iss ( in school suspension) with NO explanation. I would definitely not recommend this school for your children safety.

Paul R. Smith challenges my son academically with best practices for learning such as inquiry projects, document based reading of primary sources, multiple text use to develop a point of view, active hands-on learning in Science, chances to redo and relearn, organizational binder/portfolio with table of contents to organize work and learning, a homework level that makes sense for middle schoolers, and integrated use of technology with dashboards to resources and my student’s work. The teachers, staff, and principals take time to build relationships with kids for learning. I appreciate their hard work for my student. He’s not in any special program. He goes to a “regular” public school and is in a “regular” program. He’s receiving an excellent education and support while he navigates the middle school years.

The entire school is filled with students who have 'life challenges' due to the very location and the nature of being a Title 1 school.

I am a 7th grader at Paul r smith middle school and I have been bullied by multiple people and i tell the school and they suspend them for a couple days most of the time but then when they come back the bullies bully again and the teachers and staff do nothing about it. Also this school is so bad that last year my math teacher left the school to go to seven springs middle because this school sucks. Then the sub we had after that left because the schools so bad. We're lucky we found another sub that didn't leave. But what's even worse is that the assistant principle also left. Thus school is very bad and I wish I never went here hopefully I can go to Hudson, gulf, or seven springs next year I recommend them those are good schools but this is one of the worst schools I've ever been too. Good luck student.

I'm a parent of my child, he goes to PRS, his teachers are very helpful experienced! Great school!!!! The only thing they need to have AP program here that would be perfect.

Apparently they can't keep there own computer network secure from a simple guess of a password, bad enough. But the real outrage is they feel it's okay to charge a 8th grader with a !! FELONY !! for a simple prank of guessing a teacher's password and changing the desktop photo. A !! FELONY !! IE, you can't get a job at MC.D's because you have to mark that little check-box on the application that says "yes I've been convicted of a FELONY! Those of you in this county you should, pull your own children out of that school ASAP. Even if it is a hardship on you to do so, your going to do your kids a favor by this and you'll show a strong message to the school board that those in charge of this nonsense need to removed from there positions ASAP.

My family and I moved to this County last year. My son attends Paul R. Smith middle school but I wish I'd of never enrolled my son at my son at this school. I'm highly disappointed in the professionalism of the teachers and Administrators at this school! I'd suggest you consider private school and or Florida Virtual school before having your children tormented at this school by the people whom are there to teach and protect the kid's.

I am an 8th grade student here at Paul R. Smith. I've been going here since 6th grade. I excel academically and am in honors classes. The best thing I can say about this school is how wonderful our teachers are. They are all very supportive and always helping you reach your goals. The worst parts of this school is the communication with staff and the sports teams. Seriously, we lose EVERY game. I am in the Paul R. Smith middle school symphonic band, and all I will recommend is come here for the band. The band itself is full of interesting and friendly people, and the band teacher, Mr. Krikstone, is awesome. If you're looking for a school with good communication and good sports teams, don't come here, but if you're looking for a school with amazing teachers that will remain your lifelong friends, a pretty good environment, and an amazing band, I would consider coming to Paul R. Smith.

My Son has entered 6th grade for this 2013-2014 school year. I know it would be an extreme adjustment for all of us. I am extremely involved in my son's life in general, especially when it comes to School work. I remember when I entered my middle school, there is a lot of pressure however that was another compared to what the state requires from theses children. I mean what I have been taught has been put down as ancient history and the Math, WOW!~ "they need to send home letter of HOW TO"S with example's", in order for us to get close to what their teacher is teaching them. Ya know, One thing I find has not changed, You do a have a selected few Teachers who still love what they do , will go to extra mile and mellow out any questions, concerns parents or our children their students. Unfortunately We have way to many negative teachers that make you feel there's no hope or that teacher will not take the time. If a child falls behind in one it, These teachers are just setting them up for failure!!!Communication and confidence in our Children our keys to success. Sandra Sulinski Parent of Jospeh Sulinski

Paul R. Smith Middle School, great teaching staff! My daughter just graduated with all A honors! This is because of not only her hard work but the hard work of the teachers!

Our school is a Title I school and we were the number one Title I school in our county based on last year's performance. Our teachers and staff give 110% and we are the best group of people chosen to work with our student population! I am so glad to work here.
