Wonderful school! Teachers, administrators, and staff care so much for the students. I never had emotional issues (that needed immediate attention) but I know others who did and when I told an adult they would immediately act on the situation. I would change my mind all the time about my schedule and my counselor would make all the changes I wanted and was very understanding. The school is very clean. If anyone complains about the cafetera being dirty it’s because student’s DON’T clean up after themselves and think their mom’s are going to come to the school and clean for them. I was fine with the cafeteria food, I got free lunch anyways. Conant has all the activities and clubs you could possibly think of and if there is something you are interested and they don’t have it, it’s very easy to start a club, you just need to ask! I love how engaged administrators and staff were. Also, I don’t understand why people complain about parking pass being expensive. That is clearly a privilege and a luxury in high school that not everyone needs! I took the bus all four years and I had no issue with it, it did not affect my development as a teenager. I was grateful for my school and have no complaints. I graduated with good grades and I was an average student.

Parents, This is for all of the children who have gone unheard and are struggling. Because the school refuses to accept responsibility for their actions, I believe this review will bring us justice. Mental health isn't taken into account here, as counselors are oblivious, and it's no surprise that the kids who "got help" have felt even worse after confiding in "trusted adults," and rather than making a difference, got hospitalized, which didn't help the kid at all, and has made the member(s) feel even worse. There are hall monitors and cameras all around the campus, which is fantastic for safety but not so great for privacy and space. I don't believe we want our every step to be tracked 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Hall Monitors have done a poor job, which has enraged the students. When I went to get some water, a hall monitor shouted at me to hurry up and get to class. Another hall monitor entered the washroom, opened all the stalls for some strange reason, and inquired as to which class I was in. It's understandable, yet it's completely annoying. Hall monitors are focusing on the wrong people and overlooking the true threats to the school. Let's not even discuss the cafeteria fare. The students have complained about the meals on numerous occasions, but the school and administration prefer to ignore such conflicts and difficulties. Teachers have stated that their lunch options are far superior to those of the students, owing to the fact that the lunch ladies prepare the food better because the teachers pay for the food anyway and have far more options when it comes to lunches. In any case, if it's prepared by the same people, I doubt it'll be any better folks. This school does not adequately prepare the students for emergencies, only holding a practice drill once or twice a year. When it comes to safety and ensuring that everyone exits the building safely and understands what to do in ALL cases of emergency, not just one, the organization is a mess. What about education? They arrange students in classrooms depending on their freshman year PSAT score. Which is completely absurd. Some children struggle to concentrate and have obstacles that prevent them from reaching their full potential. (Stress, a terrible day, or a medical illness) Teens' success isn't defined by a single test, and some children struggle with them.

My son is now in his Junior year and has had an exceptional experience. Teachers are very interactive and engaging. Sports programs are inclusive and encouraging. Friendships he has formed should last a lifetime.Highly recommend!

In terms of the actual school, mostly everything is alright. The teacher s friendly and helpful, the students aren't too bad, the clubs are fun and it's easy to find your way around. But, if you want a good education for your child, you'lol have to move to another country. If you asked me what I learned this year, I would honestly answer "I don't know." The whole education system does not care about your kids individual strengths. They don't value creativity at all. They value two things: tests scores and grades. If I could I would gladly move to Germany, England or Scotland to complete my high school education.

I'm a former student, and now parent of a child that will go to Conant. It is one of the best schools in the Northwest suburbs, and we moved into their district(211) along with the other grade school district(54) to get our daughter a great education. This school has shown continual excellence over many years and I'm very happy with my time there and that they've kept their standards high while being accessible and competitive for children of all academic levels without applying too much pressure. This school is truly one of the good ones with less snobbery.
