We've been at this school for three school years now and I admit the principle when we got there wasn't that great however the new principle is a black woman and I love her. Having my black child see someone who looks like her in a position of power is definitely eye opening and wonderful for my child to see that she too can do whatever she wants. I cannot agree with all the other comments about how low income students are falling behind etc because for one we aren't low income however I can say that this school along with my effort as a parent has helped my child go from struggling/failing to being back on track and excelling. Jenkins elementary is a great school and I will be sending all my children here.

0 stars, this is a horrible school that is mediocre at best for education purposes, and ran by a snooty principal who doesn’t care about the students needs.

Terrible. If your child is white with parents having money and they donate to school your child will do very well no matter how well or bad behavior is. If they are a minority dont expect for your child to be recognized at end of year awards. My child stayed on green every day all year and didnt get recognized. Sat in awards in kindergarten, not minorities received awards only white kids did. Minus the 2 black boys that received award from gym teacher for putting more walk miles recorded.

We had a great experience at this school! The teachers are wonderful, engaged and responsive, particularly Mrs. Greer in 2nd grade and Mrs. Hambrick in AIG. My kids loved the teachers and the special events, thanks to an active PTA!

Jenkins is a great school! The teachers, principal and staff are attentive to the children's needs and learning ability. We also have excellent parent support and involvement!

We love Jenkins. The principle is very personable, the teachers are fabulous and we feel like our daughter is getting a great education! The parents are very involved and we have a wonderful PTA.
