The Community at HCA is friendly and consistently strives for Christian ideals. Nowhere is perfect, but I have known the administration at HCA for over 15 years, and I am consistently impressed by their commitment to doing whatever is eternally best for my children. The classes are challenging, and the graduates are informed and skilled. Every teacher I worked with cared about having a Christian worldview and taught the authority of the Bible. No school is perfect. if people were perfect, we would not need schools. But this school is focused on the right objectives and is passionately pursuing those objectives.

I attended HCA and left upon my freshman year of high school. Although this is a Christian school which is great, I felt that both the families of students there as well as the administration acted as though they were all competing to be the “best Christians,” which, in turn, created a toxic atmosphere in my opinion. My family was relatively well rooted in the school, but upon the passing of close family relatives there was not a single condolence from anyone in the staff, despite claiming to be there for all of their students. I would not recommend this school for your children and would advise to look elsewhere.

There are some nice people here, but overall, I cannot recommend HCA because it doesn't live up to its description. It's not truly classical. Copious amounts of busywork are misinterpreted for the "grammar stage" of the classical education model--with no emphasis on history, reading of the classics, music theory, etc. There is an overemphasis on perfection instead of a desire to learn (again, a confusion of what "classical" really is). There is also an aura of "the in-crowd" and it's incredibly difficult to acclimate and feel welcome (e.g., most schools have family ambassadors for new families, but HCA has nothing). The communication doesn't help, as it's overly wordy and unclear. With an overhaul, there is, however, a lot of potential here!

I have 3 children that attend this school. When we moved to the area the students and staff were very welcoming and loving toward my children. I would recommend this school to anyone looking for a Christ centered education. This school has been a wonderful blessing to us.

Christian name only. If you are coming to this school from outside the area your children will have a hard time integrating with the privileged children who attend the school. Bring your wallet and be ready to pay. If you do not contribute your children will suffer from lack of recognition or educational assistance.

This school singles people who are diffrent out and only wants what is best for cettain kids! If kids learn at a slower rate they get left behind! I only recomend this school if you are strongly against public school! I went to both public and this school and can tell you honestly public is better!

Truly Christ comes first, children come 2nd, and parents and teachers work together to build Godly character into each child. Academics are strong; athletic programs excel locally and regionally; and families are being changed. I know, because we've been part of the school for 9 years.

May excel in academics but at what cost? A "Christian" school that excludes those that are different; that are a little slow. Can't let them weigh down achievement test scores!! Many cliques. Cold response from some unless one is a big contributor---above and beyond tuition!!! That is what is required. And then there are many that only send their children there because it is a "private" school; no obligation to anything Christian. Bigger, bigger and more and more money. ????

I have five kids who attend HCA and have been lucky enough to be a part of this school for 12 years. It is truly a blessing!
