I recently withdrew my children from this school back in April of 2024 due to negligence of the safety of my children. My son was bullied and tormented by a student for many years, followed into the restroom and all. Spoke with school staff in regards to my concern and all that was said was “we’ll do our best to keep this student away from your son”. Only to find out this school kept placing this kid into the same class my son was in. The final straw with this school was the moment my daughter was sexually assaulted by her classmate in the restroom. After speaking with administrators, the principal told my husband and I there was nothing he could do but “document this incident”. They REFUSED to expel this student who assaulted my daughter due to the fact that he is a foster child, and instead found out that the school staff were saying it was a he said/she said situation! The thought of this school makes me sick! And trust me. Driving by this school, I still puke like I did the day I last spoke to anyone here!

Horrible. If you are able to transport your child to another school I would recommend you do so, or be very involved so you know what goes on. The worst part of this school is the proctors. They run recess and lunch like a military school. Isnt this the time for them to be kids?! No joke if they get too loud they have to lay their heads on the table. They have to raise their hand to get up at all even to use the restroom. They are not allowed to sit anywhere but with their class. They seriously have a power trip there but don't worry if the staff likes tour child or you they will overlook most everything.

Great school and staff. Principal and assistant principal are very invovlved usually see them in the mornings greeting students. My kid loves this school. Hoping my youngest application gets accepted for kinder. Overall we have had no problems we love it here. Don’t mind doing the 10 minute drive every morning and afternoon

HORRIBLE! The worst public school I've ever had to deal with. 6 weeks in school and I've seen zero schoolwork coming home for my kindergartner and zero art. Two fundraisers have been sent home and the teacher already went on a weeks vacation. The bullying is way over the top as well. Also, there is nobody to monitor younger children to make sure they are picking out a proper lunch or making sure they eat it. I hate this school.

Absolutely love this school! The administration, staff, and parent club work hand in hand to ensure the success of all students. There is a positive vibe at this school. The teachers are hardworking and the front office is amazing! The administration does a great job of keeping parents informed with all of the new changes that are taking place in education. This is truly one of the best schools in the entire high desert, and this is why I bring my children to this school.

There have been several changes in the administration for this school over the past 5 years, which have not all been positive. Although there seems to be good administration in place now, the front office staff is fairly rude and difficult to deal with. The teachers are doing their best with the students, and I feel my children are receiving a decent education. Recess seems to present a challenge and there are not enough adults supervising the children at this time of day.

We moved to Oak Hills summer of 2011 so that our daughter could attend this school. We were thrilled with the ratings this school had received. We have been consistently disappointed on all levels. We are involved parents, we care about our daughters day to day school life. All this school cares about are the test scores. Nothing else. If I detailed every incident where they have not upheld a standard of respect and compassion towards my child I would run out of characters before the first 3 incidents could be typed. Her first two years here have been lackluster. I am hoping that her 3rd year is much better. If your child fits into the ideal student cookie cutter mold that they favor, he/she will be fine. But if your kid is different in any way, like ours is, be vigilant. If you're the type of parent that isn't afraid to rock the boat and fight for just treatment of your child in the school setting, then good luck. you'll need it.

We moved from L.A. for a better school for my kids. My son is advanced in almost every subject at this school according to state scores! I am so happy with his results all due to the Mesquite staff. GREAT SCHOOL!!

Staff really cares about the students and goes above and beyond to help them achieve their goals. Parental involvment is huge and they have an awesome parent club. There are always parents helping in the classrooms or wherever needed. They also host family events and do a lot to include the entire family in to whole education process.
