The school itself is perfectly fine in my opinion. Our school lunch has decent variety and isn't that bad, we even get specials that can sometime be questionable, but not bad, the lunch ladies try their best and we all love them for it. HHS seems very heavily weighted towards sports, as that's what most of the budget goes towards here. Specifically male sports, which are pretty nice and pretty entertaining to watch if we get good athletes. One issue I see a lot here however, is the lack of funding for much of the other activities, a major example is the marching band, we certainly get some decent funding for stuff like trips and instruments, as well as uniforms, however the school seems to cheep out on a lot of needed things, the band members themselves might have to provide funding for our needs, such as gas money. And even when we are promised to be able to do special things like visit a mall on our way, the bus drivers are often busy and we get delayed, often by around an hour, to the point where they cut out the activity that we all were looking forward to, and it ruins our morale. The classes are fine, although some classes are not forgiving in the slightest. The teachers are amazing however, shout out to Mr. Bake and Mr. Chavez for being the nicest guys I know.

If your wondering what kind of school is this? Here is a realistic truth about hermiston high school. Yes teachers here can be amazing teachers to some students. Are the teachers lacking motivation? Most are.. I can walk down a hall and point out less then half of the teachers that care about there students future. I had one teacher out of all 5 years Ive went there, that didn't give up on me. That's right one! Sometimes that's all it takes. So thanks Mr. Thornton! I am now very successful as far as family values, & life skills. In some ways I'm glad I attended at this school. It helped me realize now that I have my own children I want more motivated teachers in my children's life. Hermiston high is not where they will be attending in the future. Its not about how the school looks, or how nice the teachers may be. It's about does this school have teachers that truly care about my child's future?

I went to this school 9th and half of 10th grade. Academically, this is an average school. The kids there play mind games all day about who is popular and who is not. I didn't really pay attention to that to much though. For me it was about getting through the day. Because there was nothing to look forward to. I'm glad at my new school we get to play basketball at lunch, and if not, we get to play on the basketball courts outside. The teachers there are great except if you are black. If you're black, DO NOT go to this school. Even the kids single you out. The teachers understood their subjects they were supposed to teach, except they went through it like they went through addition and subtraction, as if you already knew it. The school is a nice looking school, but once again, if you are black, DO NOT go there. And a word of advice. If you like to bother people through vibes, this is the place for you. They play mind games there so when you come home, you're exhausted. If you like drama, then go there. The girls there like to steal everyone's boyfriends. If your family knows the coaches go there. If you are a talented BLACK athlete, DO NOT go there at ALL!! That's my personal opinon

Hands down, one of the best schools I have ever sent my kids to. This school is great, it really focuses on learning. There are so many more classes students can choose from and most of them don t have age, or grad restrictions. This school made it so easy for my kids to get into collage because of all the classes they took. Both my son and daughter got into universities thanks to all the help from this school. Academically this is a great school. Sure there are a couple of fights a year and some drama but what else can you expect from a high school, it happens everywhere, you can t stop it from happening. I personally think this is a great, great school and it would benefit your children to go there.(:
