Our experience with the nursery school at FSH has been excellent. The teachers have a clear pedagogical philosophy, they work very hard to make sure children learn to manage their emotions, and they integrate learning into everyday life. My children have flourished and their individual interests have been fostered by the school. Every teacher and staff member knows my children, and it feels like they are really part of a community. I am looking forward to see how they continue to thrive in preschool.

I cannot say enough great things about Friends School Haverford. It is such a wonderful and nurturing environment. I currently have two children at the school and they are both in their third year. My children genuinely love going to school and have a blast learning. The teachers and staff are amazing and because it is a smaller school, they all know my children and my children know them. The campus is beautiful and they spend lots of time outside. It has truly been a privilege to have our children attend Friends School Haverford.

Both of my children started their educational journey at Friends School Haverford, and I am so grateful they did. The school reinforces values of kindness, appreciating diversity, imagination, and respecting nature that have become a part of my children's moral foundation. The teachers love your child for who they are and bring out the best in them. Further, beginning in Nursery School the children are exposed to Art, Music, PE, and extracurriculars that one would expect from the elementary school level. I whole heartedly recommend FSH to anyone looking for a place to start their child's educational journey.

When we started our journey at FSH, I was a first-time Mama living without my immediate family nearby and nervous about everything. We started in the Toddlers and Friends program and I kept pinching myself and asking -- is this for real? Are people really that kind, compassionate, and nurturing? How is it possible that, in every interaction, I feel the FSH mission coming through? Spoiler alert: it is true! Spending more time at Toddlers and seeing the other teachers on campus talk to even the littlest of friends with dignity, kindness, compassion, and nurturance was awe-inspiring. My children have progressed from Toddlers and Friends all the way to Kindergarten at FSH. We've seen them blossom with the support, nurturance, and compassion provided to them from their teachers. FSH has always felt like a home for our entire family. FSH is an exceptional community focused on student growth by facilitating kindness, compassion, curiosity, inclusion, acceptance, confidence, tolerance, and wonder!

We have been apart of the Friends School Haverford Community since 2018. Our son joined FSH in the 2nd grade. Over the last four years we have witnessed his growth both academically and socially. The relationships that he has developed with the teachers, staff and his classmates has help to mold him into a kind, intelligent funny kid. As parents we too have developed long standing friendships with the parents of FSH. FSH not only poured into our sons life but ours as well. The Griers

We enrolled our young child here thinking it would provide an accepting, nurturing, learning environment in which the children would spend a lot of time outdoors, but that was not our experience at all. The school / leadership was actually very rigid with many odd, nonsensical rules that dictated student life and that seemed to change and be enforced on a whim. It was frankly a TERRIBLE experience for my family and we withdrew pretty much immediately; several other families did the same. It was not an accepting or nurturing environment in the least.

Friends School Haverford provides a nurturing and comprehensive curriculum based on Quaker Principals. My family and I have been so happy with our experience at Friends School Haverford.

They have an exorbitant amount of rules that are not written down and not consistently enforced. Some kids get away with murder, others are punished for the smallest offense. They use punishment a lot.

Our daughter began attending Friends School Haverford during elementary school and we have been very happy with her experience as she has progressed into middle school. We have found the school to take an academically challenging, yet creative approach to learning. Our daughter does not spend her days doing test prep. This is a small, diverse community that benefits from the active involvement of families.

We did not have a good experience with the school. The new leadership will get a chance to affect change improving academics, stopping the judgment of kids with challenges and rebuilding the loving mission this school has. The outdoor space is amazing and the animals in the rooms are wonderful. Except for math and science they do a good job with coursework thru 6th grade.

Our son started this year at FSH in the middle school, and we could not be happier. The community of kids is incredibly welcoming and kind -- Our son felt at home almost immediately, despite entering a small school in one of the upper grades. The teachers are wonderful -- flexible, but also pushing kids to do their best, and not afraid to have the kids confront hard topics. FSH is also the rare private school that is disability welcoming and inclusive -- just one of many wonderful aspects of their truly diverse community. Diversity and inclusion is little more than a catch phrase for many private schools -- at FSH it is a real commitment. The academics are great -- I feel confident my child will graduate in 8th prepared for any high school. In short, it is hard to imagine a better middle school experience for my child!

As someone who has worked within and knows well both Main Line K-12 private schools and public elementary schools, Friends School Haverford is indeed a special school. The academic program is substantive and thoughtful, encouraging students to be active participants in their own education, and with an extraordinary level of mutual respect between teachers and students. But if you are visiting and want to get a full sense of this school you should include the school Quaker Meeting on Thursday mornings where it is not unusual to hear even a 2nd grader standing up out of the silence in the historic Haverford Meetinghouse to reflect on something that is important to them. This is a school that not only provides its students with a fine, rounded education, but also enriches their lives in ways that will remain with them long after they have moved on to high school, college and adulthood.

My children loved their FSH years, starting in PS and K through 6th grade graduation. It was a wonderful learning community that educated them socially, emotionally and academically, A gem we are lucky to have found!

Friends School Haverford is an amazing school. The beautiful campus (complete with great playgrounds, chickens and gardens) combined with engaged and caring teachers provides a stimulating and nuturing environment for our son. We also appreciate the value system of the school which teaches children to be kind to themselves, one another and the world around them. And on top of all of these things, our son is excited to go to school every day. We are so fortunate to have found this "gem".

I love this school. The kids are friendly and from diverse backgrounds. They are all caring and kind toward each other and are full of curiosity as they see what great lessons are ready for them each day. The teachers are kind and super smart and encourage each child to do his/her best. Wonderful discovery learning projects and no pressure for state testing, although the kids do extremely well on standardized tests when they go on to high school and college. A gem!!!

Friends School Haverford provides a nurturing community where every student can shine! The faculty is caring, able to differentiate instruction, and really does "know" each child. The setting is beautiful -- we love the chickens, the playgrounds, the gardens, and the Forest Edge! Children have opportunity to learn and play, while also experiencing all of the ideals of a Friends education. The community is ideal and there are always fun experiences to join! We have two little ones in the school (kindergarten and Forest Edge Nursery). We can't ask for more in a school community! Every day, our children are eager to join for school and are so happy to share about their day's experiences when they return home. We can "hear" about their learning in their play, singing, and stories that they share. The kindness that they learn is embedded in their imaginative play at home - and we love hearing it! Our children are growing to be confident and caring contributors because of their fabulous school experience. Thank you, FSH!

The school has excellent new leadership and the micro-farm complete with chickens, Monarchs, student gardens and a wetland, make this a unique and wonderful education. Very strong program and they're adding 7th and 8th grades!!!
