As a student in this middle school I do not find this school a place where students learn well. The teaches say that we should be able to do our work and not be tired. But they give a lot of homework and some of us have extra actives after school. So by the time we get back home and and finish our homework we won't have time for our families and friends. This school makes us were IDs that they give us at the beginning of the year and if we lose it we have to pay for a new one or else we will get in trouble anytime a staff member sees us without it on. The school is suppose to provide breakfast and lunch but if we do not have our ID we are not allowed. The school's lunch and breakfast are really bad. The food that is meant to be hot are not, their milk is expired, and their fruit has mold on it. After the first few weeks of this school year I finally had enough and started to pack lunch. For breakfast they only have two choices, pop tarts or something else depending on the day. So if you do not like what they have you have to eat at home so then you had to wake up earlier which will make you more tire with less sleep. I have pills that I have to wait 1 hour after taking it so I have to eat breakfast at school so I have no choice.

This school is very unbelievable terrible at dealing with bullies!! The kids and teachers here and rude,racist,homophobic,and just mean. Overall as a student who goes here i wouldn't recommend. If you don't care that your child will be bullied the learning system is ok they do try to teach you they do but with my experience the teachers can be very discouraging i was told that i wouldnt be able to read harry potter and my math teacher tells my class how terrible we are on to many occasions. Also there are too many gun threats

Upper Moreland primary and middle school are amazing! My son came in at 3rd grade and is currently in 8th grade. His first school did nothing to help him with his learning disability but UM immediately addressed it. He received an IEP and his grades improved dramatically. All of the teachers I dealt with were beyond caring and compassionate. From the front desk staff to the principal this school is top notch. I’m so thankful for this school district.

I am so proud of my daughter attending UMMS. She loves it here.
